  • if bret was so great, how come Vince got rid of him in 97? Bret was only popular in Canada and couldn't draw anywhere else. The ratings and ticket sales prove this. Flair was right.

  • classic match...one of the best ever...two of the best stars ever

  • I love the way Hebner crazily slapped the canvas and called for the bell. That made it more spectacular.

  • vicnce had the balls to make hitman, Its easy for us to re-write history.

    Bret was great.

    ....

    Lord A was

  • Yesss,. Bret wins,.

  • lol flair "NOOO" haha

  • wwerulestna, Thank you

  • FUCK BRET HART HATERS BUT I WISH HE WAS MORE OF A FACE THAN HEEL IN HIS CAREER

  • Takes two to tango, that was a great match,Flair put Bret over with style.

  • Fans today fail to realize that a title switch like this was meant to draw attendance to house shows to show people that anything could happen. In 1992 alone, there were 4 title changes at house shows. Back then, house shows were drawing huge crowds and things had to happen in order to keep people coming out to them.

  • I love the commentary - talking about Mean Gene and Bobby Heenan running tabs up in Gorilla's name! Such great chemistry between the broadcasters back in the day.

  • This is a really really great match! It has a good pace. So many great spots! All the moves are crisp! A few "Oh, that had to hurt!" moments. No need for weapons or blood. Two classy legends. And most importantly a clean finish.

  • 9:40; That line from Monsoon was so funny. "We just became X-rated, Alfred!"

  • Wow..Bret hart for the WWF champ belt the crowd is so loud!!! but when john cena won the WWE champ belt the crowd aint as good as this

  • @ByakugenHyugaHinata Bret Hart is Canadian. They were in Saskatchewan. That's why they were so loud.

  • @ByakugenHyugaHinata Reason being is the WWE fans can never get used to its World Champion because they're always playing hot potato with the title. And the fact there are two World championships makes the belts meaningless.

  • @stockton1978 yeah in about 9 seconds, which really buried Bob after he had won the title in a 40 minute match

  • you people are retarded. Hart couldnt Carry Flairs Jock

  • @demonstar64 Flair may be a 16 time world champion, But Bret is the best there is, best there was and the best there ever will be.

  • @demonstar64 lol Yet another blind Flair mark, Bret Hart is and always was a miles better wrestler. All Flair was good at was his dumbass selling.

  • @FalseImpressionist75

absolutely, flair never was realy good - maybe in the 70´s when you needed 3 moves to impress the fans

  • @zagor1974 Actually many fans argue that Flair was at his prime from 84-89, when the NWA side of the business was going tits up anyway.

  • Lord Alfred Hayes was the shit

  • is this match on DVD anywhere?

  • Diesel's title win was shown on television though....this one never was.

  • @deusamator This was shown on Primetime Wrestling which was on Monday Nights on USA Network before Raw took that time slot

  • @EddieNeverSleeps No it wasn't. The banner was there but it was not shown. It was only shown on the video 'Smack Em, Whack Em'. The post-match interview aired on WWF Superstars.

  • People don't understand what a huge disadvantage it was to Bret Hart that Vince decided not to air this match. I can't remember the last instance that a promoter chose not to air the match where he crowned his new star World Champion. It really gives no momentum to the new champion. Think of the months-long buildup guys like Ultimate Warrior, Shawn Michaels, etc. got before they won the belt, and they still failed. Bret Hart succeeded, despite the odds placed before him.

  • @niravmaurya did Shawn Michaels fail? dont think so

  • @niravmaurya Bret benefited by Vince doing a "fighting champion" angle with his first reign, taking on all comers, similar to his first Intercontinental Title reign. The "fight champion" angle is a wrestling cliche, but it's a cliche for a reason: it works. But the belt on Daniel Bryan and have him defend the belt on every Smackdown and PPV for 3 months or more. One week Wade Barrett, next week Christian, week after that Sheamus. He faces the challenges and finds a way to win. It will get over.

  • @BrokenSaintRW In my opinion they should use Undertaker`s streak to get Bryan over!

  • @BrokenSaintRW The Rock used to defend the title most televised broadcasts when he was wrestling too.

  • @BrokenSaintRW It's funny how you say this, and they have done it. Albeit in a slightly different way.

  • @niravmaurya Absolutely. I still remember Heenan being livid about this match on Wrestling Challenge. He kept repeating "Saskatoon", LOL. Hart was really the last champion that stayed with the virtues of the faces of the old AWA. He was just so believable that his technical skill was REAL in an otherwise rehearsed match. I hated him at the time, but nonetheless respect him immensely today for what he was to the sport, and that is classy and noble.

  • @niravmaurya - I think the last WWF/E title change that wasn't aired was Bob Backlund vs. Diesel at MSG. That was confusing as shit when I was kid. Me and my brother saw Survivor Series '94 live (and that was when it aired the day before Thanksgiving) and Backlund won the title from Hart, only to tune in on RAW and Kevin Nash is the champion.

And Nash had JUST turned face AT Survivor Series after HBK accidentally-on-purpose kicked Nash in the face one too many times.

  • As a kid, Bret winning the title came out of nowhere, but in hindsight, his build to the world title was obvious. He had been Intercontinental Champion since SummerSlam '91, he was the first guy to ever beat Roddy Piper by pin fall, him and Shawn Michaels worked WWF/E's first televised Ladder Match, he worked a tag match with Savage against Flair and Michaels, and he and Bulldog were put in the main event of SummerSlam '92 over Savage and Warrior.

  • @niravmaurya Reading Flair's book, it seems that Flair had an injury and had to drop the title immediately so they just did it at the earliest opportunity. I'm not convinced about that story.

  • @niravmaurya I SEE WHAT YER MEAN MATE, BUT BRET WANTED IT SO BADLY, AND WAS SO GOOD AND SO HUNGRY TO BE THE BEST, THAT IT PROBABLY JUST MADE HIM MORE DETERMINED THAN EVER.

  • The Hitman is way better than Flair.

  • do you have a video of the 16 wwe title wins of flair? or where i can find those video victories?

  • @DAVID4GAMER The Hitman is better
