Balabhaskar comes from a Carnatic background, where the violin is tuned CGCG instead of the western GDAE. The fingering is different as a result. That's why it looks weird to some people.

I can't understand this comment at all.  It seems you're trying to say that he is playing it and it isn't fake, which is true. I know quite a bit about violin, so I can judge, and what you're saying is incredibly simple stuff without any technical terms.

it took me a year to go pass the beginners stage... it really depends on how determined you are... and how bad you wnat to learn :)

Well, depends on what you mean by "beginner stage". If you're learning from Suzuki books, they become intermediate on about book 6, if you're playing it perfectly in tune with a good tone of course. It usually takes much more year to actually be an intermediate player, and an incredible amount of time to almost be advanced.
