@BrandiBroke2195 If I were playing the show would be so boring, because I wouldn't buy anything, or play any games that cost money. I'm just not someone who takes chances.
@lostn65 There was a contestant on the American version in the 80s who didn't take that many risks. In fact, while she was on the show, she didn't buy a single instant bargain (which you know as the gift shop). Host Jim Perry was literally begging her to buy something! He offered $2000 with the last prize offered to her. In the end, she walked away with over $141000 in cash and prizes.
Not the most desirable way to spend your final night on Sale of The Century by being under pressure, but he did it and that's the important thing. When ever a champ makes it that far you want to see them win, because it's very disappointing to see a contestant go so far when you support him/her from your own living room and see them lose it all.
Elizabeth was one intelligent contestant.

I remember watching this guy's arc on TV - it was late 90's, possibly 1999? Haha, I used to love this show.

did he even say anything at 39 seconds???
golions1989 2 years ago
I'm pretty sure he did - "still waters run... 'deep'". It is really incomprehensible I know.

Yeah it seems like Glen said "Correct" before he said "Deep"
AccordionManiac 2 years ago
If you look and listen very carefully right before the camera cuts to the close up of Ben, he does say "deep"
darijoe 2 years ago
I think he said "deep" just as he hit the buzzer (at around 0:38), so he probably said it a second time just after he was judged correct
