i got an '07 and im looking into headers. I live in anchorage right now and they got emissions so i need the cats too. Could you point me in the right direction on where to get that kit?

badass ram btw. Did the exhaust work help with mileage alot?
surely not that much..i mean im sure the freer flowing headers will add some power but not that much..a cat-back with a new midpipe barely adds that much..but maybe youre right im not going to say youre wrong when i really dont know, but thanks for answering my question
It depends on the car. I know a friend of mine, got 30hp by adding longtubes on his GTO.... It's usually between 20-30 though.
A catback or axle back really dont do anything for gians, just sound.
The cheapest gains would be CAI & a tune, headers & full exhaust... then add a cam later, pully's.. etc, should be a couple thousand but give you well over 60+hp.
Or just put a blower on there and crank out an extra 150+ lol
haha dang the stock headers on the GTO must be pretty restrictive. thats an awesome gain. and cat-backs do add some even if a little lol..ive got borla stingers on my 04 gt and i havent gotten a dyno run or anything but it sure felt quicker..and then she really opened up after i got rid of that shitty paper ford filter and got a bbk cai and a diablosport predator. but gm cars tend to take bolt ons better than fords do lol
all stock headers are restrictive. I watched a video about Kooks LT headers that they put on a saleen, gave it 45 more hp and 39 more trq.
A cat back may had a little but it will be a small gain. And yeah, a cai is a good gain. I just wish the 05+ stangs put out more power stock. about 300 to the crank and 260 to the rear wheels. I'd buy a new SS or a challenger if I could but a mustang is the best bang for the buck.
the only thing about getting headers for mustangs is that its so dang hard to put em on. you have to take the entire engine out to get em put on lol. and yeah i love the looks of the new SS and challenger but im a mustang guy lol. i just cant wait for the 2011 mustang with the 5.0 coyote V8 with over 400 hp lol
Even in the 05+ mustangs you'd have to remove the engine??? That sucks.
Yeah, I want a 2011 but Imma go ahead and get the 08 and keep it a few years and see how that new engine does... Im sketchy on getting a brand new engine.
yeah it does suck lol i bc i really wanted some ceramic headers but i really dont have the time or money to take my engine out. and the 08 would be a lot easier and cheaper to mod than a new one. and yeah im sketchy too. usually the first year has a few bugs to work out
Its illegal to run with no emmissions equipment, plus the issue of sound ordinance in most areas. And most new vehicals can't run with open headers anyway due to the O2 sensors being gone. The engines computer would have a fit. In this case I think it would run to rich. You would lose performance w/o a full exhaust setup of some sort.
does the motor have to come out to put in the headers and how much of a hp/tq gain do you get from them

Great headers, try installing long tubes with a torsion bar, it sucks you have to seriosly modify in order to get it to fit.

What size collector do the headers have? Did you notice any drop in low end torque when you installed the headers?

I know you're not talking about resale value.... cus dodge <everything on earth.
They do make nice cars, just cant hold value and end up being worth nothing, very quick.

did you see any horsepower gains?
coolguy3432 2 years ago
@coolguy3432
Long tubes usually add about 20HP, give or take 5 or so.

agreed, i have an off-road y pipe cutout in my 04 1500 hemi, and there is a lot less throttle response when i have the y pipe open
