  • I use lens hoods to make my lens look bigger :)

  • my hood sometimes comes into the corners of the image and causes shadows. is there anyway to avoid this?

  • Is there any occasions when you would not want to have the lens hood on?

  • Hi, wana ask, i beginner in photography, i just brought a new nikon d7000. i try to install lens hood. but i not able to remove it.. it seem like stuck. what can i do?

  • @illusion83 Not sure, perhaps it is not threaded properly. It will lock with a click usually. Look closely at the way it's attached to the lens.

  • thanks for your great tips, please keep them coming!

I have learned tremendously from your info.

  • will i be able to manual focus the lens with the hood on

  • @vnk956 yes, you can focus the lens with the hood on. With the hood "stored" backwards on the lens, you will not be able to focus.

  • @vnk956 Yes, the opposite is true with the hood in "storage mode". That will block the lens

  • Sorry to point this out but.....is ur shirt ripped at :55? lol

  • @peanutapt :) It's a vented Columbia shirt. LOL

  • I like the video, thank u much

  • ur lessons r top quality ! great job

  • @HussaMix Thank you very much!

  • how do i know which one fits my camera?

  • @CUTlVA They are designed for your lenses. Most hoods should say "for 18-55 or 75-300 etc."

  • hi i have screw type lens hood. is it ok when i use it.. it rotates with the lens? is it normal? i saw others does not rotates. thanks

  • @Bhalakubhak It's normal, some lenses rotate on the front, and some don't. You only have to worry about the hood not blocking the corners of the image or vigneting, specially in wide angle.

  • @surferboy36O thanks m8...

  • Should I use a uv filter on my lens along with a lens hood? Are there any disadvantages in using both? Thanks

  • @blueeyevisualize use it

  • @blueeyevisualize You should only remove the filter in cases where you have a lot of backlight and the filter is reflecting this light back into the lens and creating a ghost image, be careful not to let dust stick onto the front of the lens or the back of the filter, if it does, use a blower or VERY gently wipe it with a cloth, then put the filter back on. Always buy high quality brands and models like Hoya Super HMC.
