This is cool but a little excessive. On my Droid I can launch apps with two keys on the keyboard and get around faster than swiping left 9 times to get to a stack. With that navigating and multitasking I still don't have to sacrifice my home screen that has other shortcuts, folders, widgets for displaying info and other things.
Lol you can launch apps on the Pre2 with 2 keys as well. What Deiter is doing is keeping them open so he can easily get to them without having to press 2 keys.
As far as I will go is the Siedio slim battery at 1350. So far I am doing alright though I do feel as if I am giving up usability and experience to accommodate the battery life. This will be much more important with 2.0. New battery technology is needed something massively greater.
I didn't get the chance to write down the work flow as it ended up deleted. Simply I can use 6-8 or more applications including instant messengers, document editing( which is available on other phones) the web browser, and multimedia. These are primarily active applications give less than an hour possibly 2 of battery life. a 2600 mah is bulky, and slenderness is one major reason for having the phone. 3400 mah is out of the question. At that point I would simply use a different phone.
My Blackberry 8300 technically multi-tasks better. While the coding is not nearly as nice, the availability of applications and abilities are available. Removing the hard key (home button) was a sign of less productivity as well.
Palm is a company their people may be a bit over their own heads with.
Gaz has it right, and as I have stated, Palm should mostly do no more then create trans-coding to place their own graphics and buttons on android applications. It should take 3 days to recode.
To allow people to bloat the market will make it less attractive to developers. While someone with excellent information on vacuums could charge this amount we would need to see a serious amount of work, including HD pictures, Inside out explanations, video comparisons, and more. Instead we saw web pull feed for 3.99. Anyhow the application would be much out of order.
Sometimes I believe parts of Palm is just to anger the people of American quality.
Mentioning weather as a workflow app is negligent. Any novice can check the weather from a non smart phone.
The only market for Palm WebOS is premium for full feature applications with dynamic coding and good integration though out the system. (preferences, native applications, etc.)
The battery life is so poor that actually working on the palm kills the battery in under and hour.
I just posted a complaint for a $3.99 vacuum cleaner reviews application. I recommended automobiles. (more)

While I understand Palm users such as yourself assume there are no other phones on the market. I must say your idea of work flow is a bit off and so is the lack of efficiency within the coding of webOS. Now a 1 ghz processor should hold up, but a larger battery is needed, I do believe they could have made a larger capacity for the battery. I should do a you tube video of a common work time for me. Instead I will write it down since many of the features I am having to do with out. (next post)
I didn't see you to the "tap outside a card" to do the mini-card view thing. Did WebOS2 remove that mini card view where you can see 3 cards/stacks side by side and quickly move from the first card to the last card?
I really liked that view and it would be great if they brought it back, perhaps as a way to move entire stacks! ie: Go to mini-view and drag an entire stack or single card around to change their order.
Anyway, nice video and I can't wait for the next generation device on Sprint!!
@XxXzigzagableXxX fair enough. I wasn't able to on my Pre Plus cause if anything went wrong with it I'd be screwed. (Because I unlocked my pre plus for Australian use) As it is my Pre Plus had an error on it that Palm won't fix unless i give them 200 bucks. :S
@XxXzigzagableXxX I thought they only accepted developers in that. I do not intend of developing, I just wanna have a quick look at the webos 2.0 before I buy my Pre 2 :P
@Editor02Channel i think they changed it to let anyone in, but either way, just say you want to be a developer and want to test your ideas with webos 2.0
have a galaxy s but webos is my favourite. waiting for some new hardware. gorilla glass screen (my palm pre got scratched up to hell), faster processor, better battery life. I'll be on board after that. The camera was good enough on the palm pre. It was better than my galaxy s is now. Don't know if i have this phone on the wrong setting but or less the sun is shining the galaxy s camera takes crap photos for me. Even in night mode
@Schmid7y I do not see WebOS in the map. Too bad was not backed up by a prime company such as Apple to iOS and Google to Android. BTW, Android is improving at giant steps and if I recall properly, Palm Pre had bad reviews about its battery. My Milestone lasts for a day and a half with 1 hour of wifi and about 30 min of youtube included. Anyway, WebOS interface RULES. Let's not get this into a flame war ;-)
Actually there is a "small card view" like you were asking for. When you are looking at the cards, tap the background to the side. All of your cards will shrink by a good amount. That way you can see more of your cards at the same time in a small format.
@Thetis101 this is simply a spec bump to produce something even with the current market. There is a ZOMGUBER device with a rumored Retna Display in the works. It will be showcased at CES in January. =D
I can't wait till this phone and the Palm Mansion come out!! I think the mansion will be better then the Pre 2 cuz of the keyboard being so small.....
@idc1414 Me too. I want the hardware that Android phones are coming out with, not my old Pre with a spec boost, but I want webOS on it. I'll wait to see if anything's announced at CES. If not, looks like I might go for Android for a while.
@colorcrayola Yes - Timeline is not yet set in stone. Some sources say that the carriers already have it - so perhaps ~1.5 - 3 months for Sprint, the same or more for the slower approvals at VZ and ATT
where did you get the facebook app ?? and where is the twitter app ?? please help

@cooz0977 You can purchase up to a 3400mAH battery for the Pre. I am currently using a 2600, which gives me as much extended life as I need.

@gaz082 Or just, webOS = WIN. Android still has the poor battery management and fragmentation.
