I hope Los Caballeros eventually do some of the songs of Jose Alfredo Jimenez, some of the most beautiful poetry ever written in the spanish language. Los Caballeros are as polished as some of the best in Mexico. Im from Calif but my parents are Mexican and I grew up listening to mariachis.

Los Caballeros are one of the best Mariachis outside of Mexico, when they play and sing their love of the music is obvious. Ivan is a wonderful singer sounds very authentic and Mexican.Even other spanish speaking countries cant always get the Mexican singing and harmony right.They do justice to the music and to Mexico.

To test my theory please see 2 You Tube videos: (1) “Lindo Croatian folk dance,” where the Lijerica is being played vertically instead of horizontally. Then check out video no. Navedena pjesma u Hrvatskoj se prvi put javila u sasvim drugim životnim okolnostima nego što je to bilo u Mexicu. Pjesma je najuže vezana uz film "Jedan dan života" (Emilio Fernández- "Un Día de vida", 1950.) a ne uz slavlja rođendana i sl. S toga su i posljedice različite.
