  • If Buncombe County Government is so great then why are they keeping peg monies meant for URTV & thus making URTV public access TV shut down in September - pure government greed is why - I urge all local citizens to come to the public hearing on June 15th at 4:30pm at #30 Valley St. in downtown Asheville -

  • natuical/military is really in this season, i would really like to see how to easily make something like a shirt inspired on this trend! thanks have a good day!

  • Yeah I think I am officially obsessed and inspired buy you guys.

  • But yet you came to a video all about making your own cloths? YOU'RE SO SMART! Like god, dont be stupid ! Dont come to the damn video if you dont like what its about!

  • We SHOULD wear stuff instead of thowing it away if it is still usable...recycled fashion is about creativity AND sustainability....By "professional", you mean some factory worker in China? the purchases you make have an impact environmentally, politically and socailly beyond buying a shirt and not thinking about it again.....and you shouldn't adhere to anyone's notions of how you should dress, that's what the show is all about!

  • Genius...lol. i'm gonna join thread heads :)

  • lol when thw little kid was rapping

  • f ing ace

  • It's amazing what I've learned about the extraordinary people in my own town through this piece. Thanks!

  • Seriously?

The poetry ghettos are dead, kids.

A pathetic continually wilting and conforming shadow of it's glorious and vibrant past, fuck Haight-Ashbury, fuck Castro, and fuck revival for the sake of the trend.

    You're a tool.

  • >:/ ..pointless

  • We have the "Castro" District, our Gay neighborhood District in San Francisco.Rainbow flags line the streets with a huge one in the center of the district near the subway station. And Gays every where,LipGloss,Purses,feather-boas and all!!!

  • You can be as Gay and flamboyant in San Francisco.See,North Carolina is still very RedNeck.Homophobic and closed-minded.even the Gays aren't like us Fags in San Francisco.we are a little more Extreme for the south.

  • San Francisco is the Gay-mecca.looking and being different is quite normal.go right ahead and hold hands in public,it's quite normal too.

  • Anyway.Yeah,the real Hippie City,is San Francisco,California.Now,we are talkin'!

The "Haight-Ashbury" District is waaaay more extreme than Ashville.Anything goes in my City!!!

  • i left a comment.

    :D

  • the truth is ofetn far from simple. only a simple person would think it is. ;-)

  • Great idea. Too bad I have an fear of sewing machines.

  • i like this !!!! (:(:(:(:(:

  • no such thing as eco friendly clothing it's all eco friendly as cotton comes from nature. polyester saves use of cotton etc.... ps. mankind is nto that mutch of a threat we are mere fleas on a elephant if even that mutch.

  • do you honestly believe that? if we are fleas we are pretty strong because we are tearing the elephant to pieces.

with drilling, levelling of forests, burning of fuels, farming etc. we are causing insane amounts of destruction to the planet. for example Ireland used to be covered coast to coast with trees, now there are relatively few woodlands and plenty of farm-land. that is a pretty big difference

  • what i'm telling you is not like the rhetoric your'e parroting. we have more forest's now than even 100 years ago. I have traveled more in the last 2 years alone than most people see in 7 lifetimes, & I'm telling you it's not true what you say. I've seen it with my own 2 eyes all of usa & canada from coast to coast. don't believe the media hype. think for yourself for once. cotton is allready eco friendly, it's not polyster. big difference there.

  • I'm not talking about the cotton stuff. That is a bit too much for me. I have travelled too. I am just back from 4 weeks conservation work of South African wildlife and two weeks Coral research and conservation in Mozambique and I can tell you we are having detrimental effects on the wildlife and on the environment. The climate has tangibly changed here in Ireland over the last 5 years and is threatening ways of life and homes thanks to global warming

  • wextremeist bs 3 degrees change over 100 years does not create that kind of change. some other forces are in action.also the planet has allways been in a state of climate change this is not something man has done.

  • Man is increasing the rate of climatic change by doing things like unlocking carbon that is supposed to remain dormant in the ground. Believe what you want but I am experiencing real climate change right now outside my home.

3 degrees does make a huge difference. Coral reefs have a comfort range of 4 degrees. if the area was in the upper half then now it is outside the range. the ocean has a very delicate balance of life and 100yrs is a heartbeat in evolutionary terms

  • asheville is home.

  • i hate living in that damn town

  • Really, I'm trying to move there. Kentucky is really pretty, but I have the summers here. Too sticky!

  • yeah the weather here is a bit cooler than most parts of north and south carolina, on less your interested in historical sites, hippy and organic crap downtown. i wouldn't move here

  • indeed

lots of hippys and such downtown.

  • awesome

  • I love that cuff! Its so cool, and her dress looks so comfy, summery (is that a word, like summer?) and pretty :D so cool!

  • i know th woman hu owns honeypot, i remembr wen she opend it

  • This video keeps breaking up like cell phones! DANGIT! :(

  • I love Asheville, i was just there yesterday and it was great. Art, culture, and great food. We also ran into some peace protesters.

  • that honey pot store is pretty cool, wanna go one day..thats if i can find it :D

  • I visited Honeypot last weekend. The clothes we sooo nice.

  • lol, me 2

  • me also, so boring

  • i have seen the face of god, and it likes cuffs made from scraps.. *_*

also: couldn't you just sew the two ends of the cuff together by hand if the scraps are stretchy enough? i DIFINNATLY want to make one!

  • I don't think you can. The act of sewing repeatly over even knit fabric scraps would remove the stretch. Hope that helps. If I am wrong let me know.

  • oh, you're right. unless... if there was such a thing as stretchy thred.. that could work!

  • my Jewlery teacher says there IS such a thing as stretchy thread.!

  • Now I have to visit Asheville! Lovely inspiring video!

  • You gize are terrific! I need to start making stuff on my sewing machine!

  • From a man who enjoys fine arts & crafts...I really enjoyed sister-girl's presentation. I'd much rather watch her than "QueenPin" ol'Martha Stewart...anyway take care and if I'm ever in Asheville, I'll stop by if only to sponsor an arts 'n crafts show there. You go girl and keep up the great work you do. It's very inspirational.

  • I miss Honeypot in Asheville. Now I'm in Lawrence KS. Another cool spot in the universe.

  • I can not find this paper :(

  • Thanks Rob and Corinne! I had so much fun doing this! For you folks that decide to make one of these, I keep getting asked where to buy that lovely dissolving paper. You can find it in the craft/quilting section of nearly any craft store, and most super walmarts. enjoy!
