few questions I'm planning on buying eSpeaking How does it work ..I want to be able to have my voice commands to my keyboard controls for gaming on mostly Flight sims .. So say landing gear without espeaking is Button G pressed once the gear go's up x2 gear down ...So could i use eSpeaking in game and say G to rise the gear? can i program any word for use of a key? Thanks
@freakyflow You asked: So could i use eSpeaking in game and say G to rise the gear? can i program any word for use of a key?
Yes. You can program any phrase to execute any keystroke you wish. To raise the gear, you would say: "Raise Gear" which would execute the letter "G". There are commands you can import for existing software such as Flight Simulator.
Could you imagine this guy as your dorm-mate in college - lol I'd be jumping out the window daily haha. Thanks for the demo, though - I've ordered this and am patiently waiting for the man in brown to show up...
To create voice commands for FSX, go to the Import tab and import the commands first for FSX. This will create a "scope" for subsequent commands to be created. Each command can be executed either as Global or with a defined scope. Because of the interface created by some programs, it may be easier to import the commands for those programs in order to create the "scope" for new commands for that program. Start FSX and then say: "Add New Command" to access the add command dialog.

@eSpeaking ok ok ok but on my computer there is not the option to create commands. Could it be that e-speaking is not compatible with the german edition of Windows 7 Home Premium?
eSpeaking might be OK for things other than the flight simulator, because it just sends keys to the sim or other games without checking status of item. For a more immersive experience, i preffer something called "Multi Crew Experience". It does all what eSpeaking does in a more realistic way, and even allows interaction with FS ATC. And the best part, is that you can try it for free.
There are several factors which can affect the performance of any software application. What is the Processor in your computer and how much RAM do you have? To find out this information, go to the Windows Control Panel and choose "System" then click on the General tab to see general information about your computer.
The e-Speaking program allows you to specify a verbal response to each command that is recognized. "Ok" is the default response. But you can enter anything as a response. If you are asking about the type of voice used in the demo shown here, it is Kate16 from NeoSpeech. More information is available at the e-Speaking website.
Commands can either be Global (accessible at all times) or limited in Scope to a specific application (program window). The commands for Flight Simulator work only in Flight Simulator. When you say: "Throttle Up" in Flight Simulator, it will execute the necessary commands which may be different in some other Scope (racing game, adult website, etc).
In e-Speaking, you can specify the scope of each command so that it works when you want it to work and does what you want in each situation.
"OK" ya the atc thing would be sick, maybe they could update or allow you to remove the "ok" from the reply..this stuff is like what the HUD is to the f16's in making it easier to do things...i hate having 35 things to do on landing...this would make it so much easier...
Microsoft would do far better to dedicate resources to integreating this technology to intereact with ATC in the game... infact that would be quite sick.
You're right. I should have added more variations of how the computer responded. The software allows you to create any verbal response. One of the more complex conversations is shown at:
