This is a very amazing story and hopefully the snake stays friends however there was a story in an English newspaper about a man in America I think who raised snakes in his house for years because he loved them and wanted to keep them from getting extict and then he ended up getting killed by one of them. Good luck to this boy, like I said, it is amazing that the snake is friends with the boy and hopefully he stays like that. In my family there is a cat who eats human food so it is possible.
There are PLENTY of "snake stories" online that are 100% fake.
Snake's brains aren't constructed in a way that makes them think out long-term plans.
The snake you talked about simply lost weight. Unless it TOLD THEM that it was gonna eat their daughter then the point in your story is completely invalid.
@Hjernesprong Goldfish can remember things for upto 6 months... so as long as they see the same thing each day...they will keep on remembering it... If thats what you meant about snakes... so if that's what you meant then I think you're wrong... I might be wrong but yeah x_x
@dag0012 Children are sometimes killed by their dogs as well. And anyone who has had a cat knows that if it had the strength, it would have killed someone at some point (but all they can manage is clawing or biting before running away). Yet most people aren't killed by their dogs or other pets, so why is it inevitable that the snake will kill the boy? As if it hasn't had numerous opportunities. There is no guarantee either way, but my bet is the boy will be fine.
The boy is 7 years old (Samnang) and has been friends with the python (Chamreun) since he was 6 months old. The python eats the same food as the boy, like chicken or duck. The family treat the python like it was part of the family because it brought happiness to them.
These things only live like 20-25 years, right? I imagine the boy will outlive his friend and that makes me really sad.

...this snake will kill this child eventually.
I found a story online earlier about some family that let their python sleep in their daughter's bed.
Well the time came when they noticed that all of a sudden the snake was losing a lot of weight, so they grew concerned and took it to the vet.
Wanna know why it suddenly started losing weight?
It was starving itself so it could make room so it could eat the little girl.
