From what I can see the Dymaxion was a Ford Car chassis that went down the road backwards. How did they get more than one reverse speed out of it? I'm puzzled.

Perhaps it's foreshortening caused by the camera placement, but this looks much smaller than the Dymaxions I've seen in newsclips.
