I don't listen to any hips hop after the mid 90's. So what i mean is leaders of the new school (those few years) compared to just a few years later when he did stuff with Missy Elliott was when he listened to his friends and toned it down a bit.
A lot of times you'll hear people make excuses for how wack a rapper was and say he's young(Souljah Boy, etc), keep in mind Busta was 18 when they dropped this.
If you were old enough to remember Video Jukebox back in the day, I waited for someone to request this video, and screamed when it came on. One of my favorite hip-hop groups. Also, I was so happy when I bought the cassette tape, "Future with No Past." We did not have CD players and MP3/iPods back then. The year was 1991 and I was 16. Wow!! LOL.
@Mr4realhill I thought old busta was just a tad to much and when he litened to his closest friends telling him if he toned it down just a little he would sound incredible. So I believe he did that and it showed in his later career. Because this song is slower he sounds really good. I miss going to swimming parties at night here in southern california listening to de la soul and bonita apple bum smelling the girls hair after she had it done at the shop. drove me crazy :)
@Bladerunner55217 my opinion differs, his old stuff was way more knowledgeable and easy listening. His new stuff to me sounds just as bunk as any mainstream out

when did shit get so fucked up i mean as far as hip hop? these guys grew up in the hood; life was hard, but look at the content of this song, the creativity, the story telling, the fucking talent and then it ends up sounding like this current video of lil wayne and rick ross "john", what the fuck happened?, i say hip hop was hijacked by faggots true or false? or did i get old?
We got old. It's just new generation shit that we will never understand. Just like our parents didn't understand why we liked LL, Run, Fotboys, etc. - And our Kids' children will not understand why they like what ever the future holds. - It's a cycle.
This video had many positive and negitive images in it that helped their sobb stories.Leaders of the New School was one of the best group that songed in the early 90's. I wonder where was the song took place at.
@horvathazagergo No, Bus said in a interview that he wanted to be a part of TCQ cause he had a better relationship with em'(especially Q Tip). Post Tribe, there was talks of a Busta Rhymes/Q Tip collabo record. LONS wanted to do a 3rd album without Busta but Elecktra wouldn't let them. All C Boogie Brown has done solo-wise was "Nuthin' But Flavor" w/Funkmaster Flex,ODB and Biz Markie(in 95') and "I'll Always Be Around"(in 99').
The Leaders of the New School were an American hip hop crew composed of Uniondale, New York natives Charlie Brown, Dinco D, and Cut Monitor Milo, along with Busta Rhymes, who is from Brooklyn. The four got their start touring with hip hop group Public Enemy, and in fact it was member Chuck D who gave Busta Rhymes and Charlie Brown their names.
CLASSIC.
