@Brutalyeah At this time, they were pretty much plugging right into their Marshall amps without a lot of effects and processing. They still had the raw garage band sound and mentality. When you get too far from that, it just doesn't have that raw feel to it any more and it loses the essence of what rock and metal should be. To me, a four piece band plugging in raw and jamming is what it's all about!

No matter what happened after, Metallica will always be gods. Especially if you do what I do and watch no performance after 1992- before James fucked his voice through over touring and they cut all their hair off (mistake!- you can't headbang with no hair, and Metallica head banged like no other). And IMO Jason leaving the band was worse for them than when Cliff died. I miss him.
