Technology is quickly rising, and it doesn’t seem to ever benefit the people.Goldman Sachs owns enough toll roads!Toll roads discriminate against the poor, unfairly target particular persons, communities,&business who live along or who must use toll roads.

I just read that the proposal for this toll road extention was blocked. Thank God!
I've never surfed, hell, I don't even live in Cali, but like Clint, I don't support the government, well, basically taking our beaches from us! Besides, what the hell does Cali need an extended toll road for anyway?
The question is how we, as a country, choose to use government, for what values and which purposes. Using government to protect and preserve our natural environmental heritage certainly makes sense to me.
(This is where I learned to surf, too.) haha Sadly enough maybe Calif gets the benefit of Eastwoods guilty conscience over what he did in Hawaii huh?.
All the development makes me feel ill, that's why I can't even stand soCal any more so I had to move to where there's at least room to breathe...
If Clint had never made it as an actor he'd probably be complaining about the exclusivity of places like Pebble Beach. I saw him at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am practice day and he was the only celebrity who was refusing to sign autographs and would not even acknowledge the people. I was hugely disappointed by this. It's not as if the fans are going there to actually watch him golf. Also, that story below about Hawaii is upsetting...
Yeah, pebble beach has always been gated... we snuck on during a elementary school field trip and I have one of the pebbles still. But we got in trouble. They saw us way out on the end and they came right away and told us to leave... that was way back in 72. Clint is typical, does some good things, does some bad things. Great movies though!
This coming from a man who forced a purchase on a pristine, undeveloped, beautiful, virgin Hawaiian beach kicked out the native surfers who were camping on it by the use of force with armed private security then brought in tractors, cranes, steel and cement, dumped it on the beach and built a 30 million dollar mansion that he only stays in a few days a year and the rest of the time leaves empty. Fucking sell-out hypocrite puke maggot.
Come on... Now why would anyone say anything like that? Are you one of those people scared to death and hateful of the truth? Are you a lover of lies and deceit? Is your entire miserable existence only one big lie? If not, why would you make a comment such as that? Everything I said was the truth. I have known Clint for over 20 years. I know his place well. I watched what he did with my own eyes... My family has been in the neighborhood for three generations. You shouldn't hate the truth...
Ha ha, your a classic man... Thanks for the laughs... I will be sure to pass your YouTube page (URL) and your quote "Stick your Aloha, you fudge packer" along to Clint. Thanks for joining the team... I am sure Clint has heard that quote from numerous people due to his blatant disregard to the delicate island environment which he has a hand in destroying...
You obviously have never met the man... I am actually very well respected in my community unlike Clint. I am actually a senior member of the City Council and two of my local environmental protection groups. I actually walk my talk, unlike Clint...
Your an idiot! You knowing Eastwood is about as truthful as me saying I banged Princess Di! Judging by your page, Eastwood wouldn't have a damn thing to do with you! Your just another conspiratorial minded idiot!
Your screen name itself shows you to be an ignorant moron.
My screen name is merely a handle I was given during my involvement in the Los Angeles "Riots" of 1992 by some friends. I was an AP photographer at the time...
But that ridiculous comment aside, I have know the man for many years. He lives about 450 feet from me in Maui and I see him at the grocery store daily. If you don't believe me I am willing to bet you, I don't know say $5500.00 cash and you can fly over and I'll intro you to the pig.
He has a house in Carmel 12 houses over from a friend of mine who is partners on a vineyard in Carmel Valley also. So, yes once again in your life you are dead wrong. Take me up on the bet though, I could use some help on my mortgage this month... Oh and by the way, I am sure in the 60 somin' years that Clinton has walked the earth he has not met, worked with nor lived near ANYONE, so actually NO ONE knows him... Imbecile...
Seeing a person is not knowing them or being friends with them, but if you are or have spoken with him...does he know you speak of him the way you do or do you show one of your other faces when you speak to him?
Eastwood is actually 78 years old!
So Sandra Locke didn't know him? his own mother didn't know him? He just said he knew James Arness...what are you retarded or just senile?
Just curious why you call Eastwood a pig? try and be a little specific.
I thought I explained it VERY WELL in my original comment, the one I thought you were responding too. Damn 78, I must say I didn't know that. He looks well for that. I thought he was 67 or 68 at most, although over the past year he has stated looking very frail.
Anyway, I know him. I have been to his place (along with many other local folk). I hang at the same club, I have spoken with him often over the many years he has been around. Please see my original comment on the details. He has a very bad reputation locally for doing what he did. It is a real bummer actually. It was a beautiful public beach that has been enjoyed by Hawaiians, fisherman, and their families alike for hundreds of years.
It used to be one of the most epic camping spots in the world. Now it is motion light surrounded, cement, gated and armed guarded hell. It;s terrible...
From the photographs that I've viewed on the Internet, Eastwood's house in Hawaii is next to those of Oprah Winfrey and Pierce Brosnon and hardly the apocalyptic monstrosity that you suggest. If Eastwood is "guilty" of some tyrannical land grab on the islands, then so are his celebrity neighbors.
Some local families had a fish-camp on a beautiful beach in Maui for about 14,15 generations. These beaches have been used as fish camps for hundreds of years. They were camping and fishing and enjoying life as the Hawaiians once did.
One day a man named Clint came along with 5 of his armed guard thugs and took all their gear, harassed them and said that this was now private property owned by a Mr. Clint Eastwood and they must leave immediately or be arrested and charged with criminal trespass. Well as you could imagine this was news to them as they had been on this island since even before Captain Cook or King Kamehameha had been there (thousands of years).
Some left and some (the ones that depended on the fish in this area for the survival of their family and have called this area home for a while stayed and were arrested for criminal trespass. Within weeks there was barbed wire and fencing put up and cement mixers pouring the foundation.
Well to cut a long tragic, horrific story really short within months what once was a beautiful, peaceful, serene beach and fishing village for the local inhabitance was turned into a 5th home monstrosity surrounded in video cameras, motion lights cement walls and armed guards. The entire beach has been destroyed and the man only spends a couple months out of the year there and it remains empty the rest of the time.
It was actually the last remaining "protected" camping area and virgin beach within many miles of this area. Now there are none...
They have vanished forever, like the Hawaiian culture and way of life that has been encroached and destroyed by people just like Clint. But hell, at least he has a 5th home to use at Christmas time. Merry Christmas Clint.
He bought it for millions. It was a fishing village for thousands of years and then "protected" land for over 100. Then all of a sudden Clint showed up with millions and it was off the protected list and for sale. The deal closed in days. I would think with the bullshit he is talking in this video he would have made it a protected private reserve.
Or at worst built a minimum impact modest sized solar powered house especially as it isn't a primary residence. But no, he built the ugliest monstrosity with the most cement poured possible that the permit allowed. He is full of shit talking all this crap in this video. That was my point. He should have not made this video and he should have treated the island differently. He has contributed immensely to the destruction of our island.
Sorry to hear that. :-( He bought the land, had the natural surroundings destroyed and built his own shit there. So he basically acted like a guy he would have battled in his old westerns...
an interesting statement. The concept of property has always confused me. It's obvious that food and shelter are essential necessities that everybody has a right to, but when it gets into the abstract things that don't help for survival I've always thought it tyrannical. People just take land for the hell of it now and it's one of the warped values in america that being excessive with your wealth is somehow the right thing to do. Insanity I guess. But anyways, San Onofre shouldn't be paved over
Are you familiar with Locke's thesis of land as it relates to personal freedom? It underpins constitutional law somewhat and is considered a bulwark against tyranny. Marx's refutation of Locke could show why but I'd read Locke on property first.
@rodneykingman in america you have the right to buy apiece of land and remove the vagrants who are squatting there, thats called earning something and ownership, they didnt have the right to lie on abeach that was up for sale, or owned , there are plenty of other beaches to go squat on, then they would be dealing with law enforcement, so the lesson is if you want to be a vagrant and squat on a beach like a bunch of lazy fat Hawaiians, and fish like the natives did, then earn your own money bitch
