  • Spooky, LOL, but Great at the same time

  • First good and musical R2M video I can see...! GREAT, thank you so much! I have a Motif and I can´t find a nice sound with my R2M....Anyway, could you tell me please: it´s a R2M preset in this video? How did you set the R2M parameters to get this sound? Thank you very much again and best regards!

  • Oh I DO like this one !.....That is so beautiful.....and beautifully played too !! You're so talented Gianni.........just superb....

  • Bravissimo!!!!!

  • Can't be arsed reading all the comments, but the bit at 0:56-1:34 sounds like The Big E on steel.....and so does the rest of it.

  • very nice....is it the doepfer r2m ribbon controller?

    tnx

  • das een gaaf ding zeg

  • Brilliant performance!!!!!

  • Sweet!

  • An amazing little instrument, and a lovely performance. Thanks for posting this.

  • This is awesome. I have not heard synthesizer music since high school in the early 80s and thought I would just do a search. This has definately made this my new favorite music. Where can I buy cds with this type of music?? I love it!!!

  • wooow....soooo beautiful....soooooooo

goooooooood ..love it ...dutchboy of holland

  • amaziiiiing talent....you are great....

  • Very cool. That instrument is like a modern take on that old '50's wand that most sci-fi movies from that era used in their sound tracks.

  • that´s soo beautiful, this sound is so emotional and unique, great!!! 5 *****

  • ¡Fantastico!

  • Perfect music for this sad season

is not Ho Ho Ho is hoping hoping hoping and the life continue with the same misery and suffering.

  • Fascinante ! Preciosa ! :)

  • Awesome!

  • awesome stuff, this song can bring me to tears.

have you seen shawn lane's cover? it's a must watch.

    anyway cool as hell.

  • where did you see the notes?

  • Very good indeed for "just practicing"! Is this what the beachboys used for "good vibrations"? The background music is very well done too. Was it all done on synth's? Keep up the good work.

  • No, that's a theremin.

  • No it's a Moog Little Phatty played with a ribbon controller.

  • I'm pretty sure Little Phatties weren't used by the Beach Boys in 1968, Max Synths.

    Just a little guess.

  • What the fuck you are talkin' about?

  • Someone asked if this is what the Beach Boys used in Good Vibrations. I said no, it's a theremin.

You, then, with your infinite wisdom and knack for pointing out things people find hard to notice, said it's a ribbon controller controlling a Little Phatty.

Does that clear things up, just a tad?

  • Sorry but your reply was displayed under another comment in my browser... Someone asked what is the synth on top and below there was your answer. A YT problem??

  • Fair enough. An honest mistake.

  • It wasn't a theremin, it was a tannerin. ;)

  • If Brian Wilson had talent... It would be a theremin, haha.

  • xxsmokeymcpotxx: the beach boys used a theremine

  • ... That's what I said. Also, it's spelled theremin.

  • amazing!!!

  • *****

  • Beautiful demo

  • can you run the pressure and position sensors at the same time

like have pressure control velocity for volume swells and such

    and the position control pitch

  • WOW WOW WOW

    I love it!

Thank`s for this great Ribbon Demo

  • It's clear that the accompanimenti is the originalthing, and the player just plays the melody with the instrument.

Anyway, it is one of the best songs ever, Morricone rules everywhere..

  • My GOD, what a idea, Great Musican

  • Muy bueno !! Me encanta este tema. Lo escuché por primera vez en un concierto de Andre Rieu, y me ha encantado escucharlo aqui de esta manera.

    :)

  • Year, makes me cry too, have loved morricones music forever, and this fellow just knows how to - say, keep playing and keeping this music alive - I tend to forget how beutiful music can be - even when watched and heard on lowres video...

  • It makes me cry ;.; very emotional

  • So neat sound you have a nice version...impresive

    You are very talented.

  • Hi! I LOVE THIS THING!

So many thanx for the demo and for showing some morricone love.

COULD YOU ANSWER ME SOME QUESTIONS? plz!

Is it possible to use it with something like a softsynth or a korg radias (something thats digital and midi driven) WITHOUT those jumps in pitch that I hear on the video "MIDI Ribbon Controller with MOTIF ES 7"?

I just want to use it with a dspsynth or softsynth but get the same kind of smooth pitchbending you get.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!

  • You can't get the same smoothness if you connect it via midi like the Motif ES7 video.

You have to use a real analog synth and connect the R2M to the CV/gate in, like I did with my Moog.

  • damn! arturia's cs80v softsynth has an emulation of the ribbon pad maybe with that it'll work if you asign the axis to that parameter... I'll keep searching for this... otherwise ill search for an old racksynth

    THANX ANYWAY!

  • What do you mean. The sound we hear, is that from the R2M-box or from the moog?

If the sound come from the moog, why should it not work with... say a radias?

    or do i missunderstand?

  • Bonjour,

  • nice work!

  • Fantastic!

  • Really nice playing.

    Thanx

  • Wicked as usual.....Endorphins is still the class act :o)

  • absolutly great

  • fantastic stuff.

  • The film is great, your playing is even greater, thanks , brill !

    such talent

  • Nice solo, now do the orchestral :-)

  • Wow very nice. You must have had the R2M for a long time to play it with such class and style. Thanks for the video.

  • Great video and great playing. I've been planning on getting an R2M myself as the Continuum is way out of my price range and I really want a new way of playing synths. After watching this great video I'm done with planning! I'm getting one! :)

  • Very nice orchestration, and a quite beautiful solo.

  • bravo bravissimo!

  • very nice stuff

    May I say thermin?

    haha

  • "Ondes Martenot", rather :D
