It takes about a year to interleave the images and produce a map. esa actually took a year and a half. China took a little more than a year to release their Chang e' 1 Images.

Patience, my friend. Patience. The camera on Chandrayaan has the highest resolution of all missions sent so far, and it is the closest to the surface of the moon. (100 Km). it is also mapping areas previously unmapped.

So when the pictures come out, they'll be the best map of th moon so far.

But my dear Sir, ISRO did release pics... when the TMC(Terrain Mounting Camera) of the moon mission registered its first pics, it was circulated to the media, you can find various media footage of the moon pics on youtube. Regarding the huge spending, cost of this moon mission is one of the cheapest(only 80 million dollars, a Boeing plane costs more)... I can well imagine that if NASA was to undertake a similar mission, it would have spend about 900 million- 1 billion dollars.
