I was kind of disappointed with the graphics. Yes, we all realize it is a 'style' combining elements from the cell-shaded Wind Waker and realistic (sort of) Twilight Princess but they don't emphasize that enough, so it just looks like bad N64 graphics...
@OrganicNoob If you think these graphics look like bad N64 graphics then you need to take another look at the N64. There is no comparison between the graphics of Skyward Sword and Ocarina or Majora's Mask, or any other N64 game.

this is fucking wii sports resort! swordplay for sword, basketball/bowling for bombs, archery for bow and arrow, and plane thingy for beetle. thumbs up if you are as pissed as I am, but will still get the game.
I personally loved the graphics, but when talking about the game in previous interviews, they said the graphics were to be "Groundbreaking realistic", but these were obviously not too realistic. Also if the plot talked about during the Roundtable Conference is the real storyline, I'd be extremely disappointed. The mentioned plot seems a little bit too out there, but we'll have to wait and see.
I personally like the graphical switch, it seems to fit the fantasy world better. Sure, I would have loved realistic graphics too, but this seems to capture the unique gameplay very well. Also, the plot is bound to be stellar, because it's Zelda, and I love the sky theme, perhaps Link is gonna fly this time around! Can't wait for this game, great job Nintendo!

I'm still debating on wether I like the graphics or not. But I love Mario galexy 1 and 2, and this is the same art style so I could learn to love it. I can't wait to return to hyrule!

Hm, not much of a trailer, I was hoping that they would show a little bit more. I mean, all they really showed was Link fighting some monsters and using some items. It was all in only like two different places too. And the graphics were a bit of a let down after we were told and shown we were going to get realistic ones. Oh well, the game hasn't come out yet, so it's not right to judge it now. :/
guys there is a reason as to why it's cartoon-ish. there is an interview at ign, saying that "if we used the graphics we did from twilight princess, it would be done." which in my opinion isnt bad but they get more in depth about it, saying how "you need a ceartain strategy to kill enemies," and with the bright and colorful graphics, it' easier to see them with the colors of twilight princess, it be much more difficult ( i also found the grapics kind of bland and colourless after a while) . >>>>

This might not be what we did expect but since I'm a true zelda fan it won't get me down just yet. If I have to remind you guy's the windwaker might have been cartoonish BUT the storyline and gameplay was great!... As long as they keep up the good story line I think they will keep there fan's.

This world loves to bitch, doesn't it? Seriously, just try to appreciate what Nintendo offers you. When you focus too much on your own vision of perfection, you miss out on a lot of other great stuff that's offered your way. This sounds like a life quote, but strangely enough it applies to this situation.
Why are we not allowed to bitch? We are the public, we are the ones who are supposedly going to buy this product. If we aren't happy with the product we will complain. Like it? then buy it. When it comes to this franchise, I am not going to settle for another mediocre production like TP was. As a long time Zelda fan, I think I know what makes the game great and special. TP failed to deliver much of that, so we are all very skeptical given this limited amount of video.
@paganprincess4life I don't see what was so "mediocre" about Twilight Princess. Sure, they wore out the formula a bit too much. But the polish and details put into that game was still amazing! I think you're just spoiled, and you just became upset that the game didn't meet up to your sky-high standards for what you consider a good Zelda-game.
I agree that the look was very polished story line was great, but you don't think that it was stupidly easy? The dungeons and sequences seemed like they were geared towards little kids with how easy it was. That is what made it mediocre for me, because I would rather have a great challenge than great graphics. Take the game Homeworld; graphics suck, but the intricate gameplay and music to go along with each sequence is just breathtaking, which makes it one of my favorite games.

Am I the only person who thinks this looks good? The one to one sword play was spot on in the demo and the enemies look to be being made in ways that they required more skilled sword play and precise striking. Plus there were some cool new items like the beetle and new controls for all the items with Wii Motion Plus.
Well I can't say the graphics style of the trailer really impresses me so much especially when we all expect it to far exceed the last major game (Like twilight princess did with wind waker). But I guess we'll have to stay optimistic and hope that the storyline exceeds the features of the game and will be better than what the title makes us perceive. Because I really don't think they made a good choice in naming it Skyward Sword from the looks right now.
U know guys we should all send emails to nintendo telling them to change the graphics or at least redesign items and enemies. IDC if it get's delayed a year, if we want realistic graphics we can have them. WE ARE the players, games are FOR US.

Ok everyone, i have a few nice things to say about this trailer. the story is supposed to be based on how the master sword was created, so thats epic. the way that you can roll or throw bombs is pretty cool in itself. link can actually RUN now, so that will make the game i little better. i think that the items will be more epic than all of the Twilight princess ones. personnally, i think that the boss battles will be a little more fun than the twilight princess ones.

I think the DS games are the worst possible. There was the one part where you did have to sail for about a half hour to reach one objective, but you would be riding a horse everywhere anyways, so what does it matter if you are on a boat? They still gave you the options to visit the 49 islands, fish for treasure, out-at-sea obstacles and side dungeons.....etc.

You realize they have more than an entire YEAR to touch up the graphics? This was to show you what to expect. Imagine how much work gets done when one man goes into work on that game for 10 hours a day. Multiply that by a year and a half and then multiply it by however many people are working on the game.

The motion controls aren't even that complicated. All you have to do is slightly sake the controller for you to swing your sword. Mark my words. This game will be better than twilight princess. Twilight princess wasn't even that amazing, not compared to the past games. Even wind waker (in my opinion and in many others) was a better game. They went back to the toon shades because of that reason. I just hope that the Wii Motion plus add on really is that easy to control with the sword and shield as well as the other weapons... But seriously, I am pumped!! i personally liked oot the best and im a little disappointed with how it looks so far, the maker of the game had a tough time playing it, but if its a continuation of the hero of time storyline, i'll be extremely happy

Hm, not much of a trailer, I was hoping that they would show a little bit more. I mean, all they really showed was Link fighting some monsters and using some items. It was all in only like two different places too. And the graphics were a bit of a let down after we were told and shown we were going to get realistic ones. Oh well, the game hasn't come out yet, so it's not right to judge it now. :/

guys there is a reason as to why it's cartoon-ish. there is an interview at ign, saying that "if we used the graphics we did from twilight princess, it would be done." which in my opinion isnt bad but they get more in depth about it, saying how "you need a ceartain strategy to kill enemies," and with the bright and colorful graphics, it' easier to see them with the colors of twilight princess, it be much more difficult ( i also found the grapics kind of bland and colourless after a while) . >>>>

This might not be what we did expect but since I'm a true zelda fan it won't get me down just yet. If I have to remind you guy's the windwaker might have been cartoonish BUT the storyline and gameplay was great!... As long as they keep up the good story line I think they will keep there fan's.
That doesn't mean I didn't want a more realistic game though... >.< I think we all kinda waited for that. All we can do now is wait! which is still a thing I can't!

When it comes to this franchise, I am not going to settle for another mediocre production like TP was. As a long time Zelda fan, I think I know what makes the game great and special. I agree that the look was very polished story line was great, but you don't think that it was stupidly easy? The dungeons and sequences seemed like they were geared towards little kids with how easy it was. That is what made it mediocre for me, because I would rather have a great challenge than great graphics. Take the game Homeworld; graphics suck, but the intricate gameplay and music to go along with each sequence is just breathtaking, which makes it one of my favorite games.

Am I the only person who thinks this looks good? The one to one sword play was spot on in the demo and the enemies look to be being made in ways that they required more skilled sword play and precise striking. Plus there were some cool new items like the beetle and new controls for all the items with Wii Motion Plus.

Well I can't say the graphics style of the trailer really impresses me so much especially when we all expect it to far exceed the last major game (Like twilight princess did with wind waker). But I guess we'll have to stay optimistic and hope that the storyline exceeds the features of the game and will be better than what the title makes us perceive. Because I really don't think they made a good choice in naming it Skyward Sword from the looks right now.

Ok everyone, i have a few nice things to say about this trailer. the story is supposed to be based on how the master sword was created, so thats epic. the way that you can roll or throw bombs is pretty cool in itself. link can actually RUN now, so that will make the game i little better. i think that the items will be more epic than all of the Twilight princess ones. personnally, i think that the boss battles will be a little more fun than the twilight princess ones.

I think the DS games are the worst possible. There was the one part where you did have to sail for about a half hour to reach one objective, but you would be riding a horse everywhere anyways, so what does it matter if you are on a boat? They still gave you the options to visit the 49 islands, fish for treasure, out-at-sea obstacles and side dungeons.....etc.

To everyone who is bitching about the graphics/style of the game...
You realize they have more than an entire YEAR to touch up the graphics? This was to show you what to expect. Imagine how much work gets done when one man goes into work on that game for 10 hours a day. Multiply that by a year and a half and then multiply it by however many people are working on the game.
The graphics will improve but if you're buying Nintendo games for the artwork then you're the wrong kind of fanboy.

The controles are what I expected them to be, also the gameplay. Love the new Bomb Graber Fly thing.

One change that doesn't even affect the game itself shouldn't change someone's opinion from "the best Zelda game" to "nothing but crap". The motion controls aren't even that complicated. All you have to do is slightly sake the controller for you to swing your sword. The WORST thing about them is having to point the remote at the screen and click something. Wow, just... WOW. God forbid us Americans from getting the slightest amount of "exercise".

Mark my words. This game will be better than twilight princess. Twilight princess wasn't even that amazing, not compared to the past games. Even wind waker (in my opinion and in many others) was a better game. They went back to the toon shades because of that reason. I just hope that the Wii Motion plus add on really is that easy to control with the sword and shield as well as the other weapons... But seriously, I am pumped!! And for all you doubters, STFU, It's gonna be good!!

i personally liked oot the best and im a little disappointed with how it looks so far, the maker of the game had a tough time playing it, but if its a continuation of the hero of time storyline, i'll be extremely happy

they totally changed the plot. and damn the new controls are going to be annoying at times. what if i just want to sit down and play...i mean i dont think im going to be pumped up to play all the time.

The Majora's mask made me go :D
But then I realized it wasn't a sequel. :[
Of course though, it coudn't be, since it mostly has to do with the creation of the master sword, which was well before OoT and MM. That and that every other zelda figure was there too.

@CorruptedVenom then now there is no chance of this game being the direct sequal to twilight princess.....now were going to have to find a place before oot and mm so fit this in.....

THIS IS FRIGGIN AMAZING. dude. this...i can't wait. all i know is that i am camping outside of gamestop to get this game. and the graphics are going to get better, i know it. but it's beautiful. gahhhhh. XDDDDD

Hmm... From what I've seen, and the music they used in this trailer, it seems that this game is going back to the more old-fashioned LoZ. I don't know why, but this is giving off an OoT feel to me.
