ps did 3D realms reallyt become bankrupt? and are they back?

  • @SandersonCallum Seems they still hold some ownership of older Duke Nukem content. They still can release some of them under the Appoge name.

  • @VinsaneOne Isn't there two people in 3D Realms?

What's gonna happen to Max Payne 3?

  • you really need to work with 3d realms

the phrases that you made duke worthy! :D

  • @joshtheoriginal10 That would be nice! They know me, been a forum member for years. They can get in touch with me at any time. And thanks for that comment, as I wait for a job offer!

  • "when it comes to balls of steel, I still have the high score" that was an awesome line no joke!

  • @xXTREY4LIFEXx Thank you very much! I wonder how many people besides you got that one? Another reference that I think got missed is from what song the lines Duke sings come from. It was a very popular rock song from the '70s. I thought I'd see comments on that for sure, but not a single one yet. Maybe because it's too old? ;)

  • Leave it to duke to stop in front of every girl poster lol

  • @wadawut Girls to Duke are like magnets, and his balls of steel, well that explains everything! :)

  • @VinsaneOne Hehe so true

  • VinsaneOne you will contiune this? i waiting for the next episode :)

  • @MrGerolf Thanks, my friend! Another movie i'm working on is almost done and will be uploaded sometime this week. Only this time, Duke isn't kicking ass but rather out getting some in "Dukes Day Off". Stay tuned!

  • @ZeratulandTassadar Thanks! You put a smile on our faces!

  • That is fucking amazing!

Your voice hears like the orginal

  • Thank you! Glad you liked it, getting better at it every day.

  • I am still better XD

  • @HEADSHOTASSASIN Good for you. But you don't have balls of steel and, you havn't yet proved that statement. But if thats your animation work i've seen on your channel, you do have something going for you. Stick with that. :)

  • @VinsaneOne I was talking about the Duke Voice bud not the animation. It was me who challenged you to a Duke Off last year ;)

  • @HEADSHOTASSASIN Better at talkin' shit maybe. I see no proof of you even being able to DO a Duke voice. If ya got the balls to speak, ya better have the balls to back it up, ya know?

  • @commandox20

How about you shut the fuck up. Me and Vinsane are actually friends and this was playful banter. I suggest you don't go butting in on other peoples convos or you may end up getting the wrong end of the stick like you just have.

I was not being abusive or cocky just having some fun. Vinsane is a top guy and his duke voices are awesome. I have nothing but good things to say about him so shut the hell up.

  • @HEADSHOTASSASIN Considering this is both Vin's and My video, i'll say and do whatever I feel. You're the one talking shit. Twice now. You may be good friends with Vin, and I have no problem with that. In fact, I had no problem with you at all... Until now.

The truth of the matter is my comment was in the same spirit as yours, but if you want to be an eThug, have at it cowboy. You just came off as a complete and total prick for no other reason than to be a complete and total prick.

  • Amazing impression

  • @thefaulkness That's great to hear, and I thank you very much!

  • you should use the HRP from now on.

  • 3:20 The epic begins.

    PS:Were you using Polymer?

  • @DANTEPLYX Yes, we did. Though my pc isn't polymer ready, Steves is, and the filming was done on his. That could have decreased the polymer effect a bit but you can see the lighting on the building looking out Duke's apt. window. Check the directors vid response above for more info.

  • @VinsaneOne It was that the background was a bit dark I know how t he Polymer is effted when the game gets a bit darker.

Duke's Apratment looked a bit like something from Men In Black 2.A room with guns XD

  • Hm..... Nothing New playing -_-

  • damn i tough it was the DN original voice man i need more of this....please lol

  • @silentihaxorz Wow thanks! More to come!

  • Why didn't you use the high-resolution pack?

  • @kohan69 Well it does says Animated.

HRP would make it look like something esle than animated

  • Voice was a tad soft for Duke, but definitely a solid impression. Nice dialogue, too.

  • The second half was much better than the first. Overall, very good video. Definitely worth my 6 minutes.

  • Yea, the first half had to begin telling the story but I think the pace leading up to the ass-kicking (your favorite part, lol !) was just right. It kept you thinking when the action would start creating a bit of suspense without being to slow. If it were just a game footage vid, then yea, the action should start right away. But this was made like a movie with a story that builds up to the climatic ending. Glad you liked it....thanks!

  • Here's hoping another Duke game will finally see the light of day.

    Great job on the vid!

  • There has got to be another Duke game!! Fingers crossed! Thanks for commenting.

  • Thanks for your honest opinion. Yea, I agree with you as well, but note that this is my first time ever doing voice acting. I'm learning more and working on getting better at it every day. Most of the voice acting here was also done on the fly. We will take our time with our future movies.

  • nice

  • Comment removed

  • Nice and good voice acrting

Sounds like the real Duke lol.

  • He voice in this vid sounds like Duke.

  • Thank you DANTEPLYX! Out of all the great comments by everyone else, I can take 1 that stinks! Good looking out my friend!

  • This is the best, I like it :)

  • Thank you!

  • Nice!

  • Thank you!

  • Awesome

  • Thank you!

  • i think you should do a Duke Nukem Series, i want to see more videos like

this one it is fucking awesome! :D

  • A series is in the works! Most if not all the episodes/levels of DN3D will be included using Polymer/HRP. Stay tuned and we thank all of you for the great comments! Open Maw Productions..."It's our way of Keeping Duke Nukem, Forever!"

  • fantastic i cant wait ^_^

  • XD, Cool!! Good video!

  • Awesome video!

    Keep it up guys!

    =D

  • 5* subscribed instantly!

  • very well done, it felt like duke nukem.

  • AWESOME

but how come you didnt use the hrp

  • Due to popular demand, we are working on our next movie using the HRP. Thank you all for your kind comments and suggestions.

  • yeah this was really good, now do it with polymer :p

  • This was with Polymer.

  • the link i clicked (from duke4net) said it was with the poly render, but clearly it is not. do you see a single object shadow?

the poly renderer looks more like this watch?v=z9nVuf6OM2g

    right?

  • Go to 6 seconds. You see the light? Thats Polymer.

This was done with Polymer. It comes with out-of-the-box lighting effects on things like Fire, weapons fire, rockets, lasers, and atomic health.

The SPOT lights are a mapping feature that have to be added in by a level designer or through map hacks. They are only one aspect of Polymer and are not yet ready for massive use in levels because they generate a significant frame rate drop.

  • ok I see,

hard to duke putting strain on anything when it originally ran 60FPS on a 486 HAHAH.

  • I directed this, trust me, I know what we used.

  • hey just a quick thought, but what if you put on a rotoscope filter in like after effects on this?

  • "Rotoscoping" isn't a filter, it's a selection technique used by animators to manipulate exclusive portions of a frame (or series of frames). While you can apply a desired filter to a rotoscoped image, I don't see anything in this entire video that would require rotoscoping let alone a filter of any kind.

  • in the 1940's it was a technique, today it used more often simply as a filter. I just quickly threw one on and it looks cool, like a DUKE cartoon.

  • No, it's not a filter. It's a technique. In After Effects you rotoscope a portion of the frame, which selects a corresponding number of pixels depending on a number of settings that you can manipulate.

You can THEN attach a filter to that selection (the rotoscope) but until you do so all a rotoscope is, is a selection.

Again, you didn't specify what filter you think he should put on, or to where, so it's impossible to agree or disagree with what you're saying.

  • ugh.. im not going to get into a argument over phonetics here, but I have many interpolated rotoscoping filters in my collection and have used them many times,

not many people put Vaseline on film anymore to blur it.

  • Dude. It isnt called rotoscoping. Rotoscoping is an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THING. Putting an image filter on something is called putting a filter on it. Rotoscoping is a kind of selection.

  • No, they use a "blur" filter. Rotoscoping is not a filter. Rotoscoping is a method used to select portions of an image, TO WHICH you can apply a filter, such as a blur.

  • Furthermore, we're not arguing Phoentics. Because we cant hear how you're saying words. We're arguing that you're using the wrong words to describe the wrong things. Thats something you NEED to get right if you want to have a conversation with someone. Also if you have IMAGE FILTERS labeled as rotoscopes, they are mislabeled. Just because I call a cookie an orange doesnt make it one.

  • you'll figure it out one day.

  • That's what the church said to Galileo.

  • Pot, kettle, black.

  • Brilliant. This was unlike most gameplay/dub videos, ion the fact that it was quite entertaining to watch. Duke's VA not only sounded close to St. John, but the writing style almost matched perfectly.

    Nice work.

  • Looks like we got a new Duke On the block.

  • you did an absolutely amazing job

  • I loved this!!!!! I love playing Duke Nukem. 5 stars :)

  • Cool! Do you use "Yang" for playing Duke online? If so, look for "Damn it to Hell" room and join us in some ass-kicking! My user name there is VinDukem... hope to see ya !

  • sweet ill come

  • Truly epic! good job.

  • it was great but why didnt you used the HRP ? it could have been way better.

but still an amazing video 5\5

  • Hey thank you! BTW check out commandox20's version for the full directors commentary on how this was filmed! (video response above)

  • Damn, after 12 years I'm still looking good !

    :D 5/5

  • this video rocks!!! why dont u remake it with the hrp? it would be great! except for the duke walk :S

  • Hrp would have caused a slight 'lagging' on my end. Undesireable for filiming, lol

  • Great Jon St. John imitator.

  • Thank you very much...er, who the hell is Jon St. John anyway? Kidding, lol!

  • Excellent work :D

    Duke will return !!!

  • I love it <3

  • wow nice one :D

  • Thank you!

  • Cool

  • AMAZING!! Good work!

  • this guy sounds just like duke !

  • Are you doing Duke's voice in this, if you are you're really good! 5/5

  • VinsaneOne is Duke Nukem in this, yepperoni.

  • It's me, and thank you for the high 5!!

  • Nice work! Love this kind of videos - DO MOOORE!

8-bit + Polymer rendering looks so damn sweet!

  • "DO MOOORE!" We're looking into it, definately. We're hoping to expand on what we did here with all sorts of goodies.

Yeah Polymer runs pretty good without all the baggage on top, and it enhances 8 bit without ruining it.

  • Thanks! Think we will if people like this one....

  • niiice!

  • FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

  • OH YEAH!!!!

  • OPEN MAW!!!!

  • Thanks! Glad you like it!
