if you want the power (plus more) of the 1200 but the styling / handling / fuel economy / appeal, of the previous models check out my channel you can have it for half the price of a new bike.
You should bring the CBR 150R And 125R models to america! They are both great starter bikes, and they are both considered mopeds here. Which means 15 and 16 year olds can ride a real sport bike that has real sport bike power, gears, and rpm, instead of some ugly CVT mopeds.

@biglandfarm as i know this model made by honda is a combination between enduro and sport bike, that's why it has an uniquie design. and is not ungly.. is just not beautiful:)) very popular bikes because they have the best engine as i've read in a magazine... i recommend u to read something before posting. cheers
Styling is subjective ... whatever. It's overweight, achieves attrocious fuel economy, uses chains instead of gears for driving the camshaft, doesn't have direct injection or a single nut (like Ducati) for the rear wheel and it's really expensive.
looks nice, but if I wanted to buy myself a BMW,i wouldnt buy a honda, but a BMW.Im wondering why the honda team left out everything from the old interceptor models and put in BMW modelling?tztztz
Ugly?Well, maybe not so dynamic appearance(personally i like it),but you've got to love the quality.....i mean the color finish, the absence of nuts and bolts on visible spots.Built quality is the best i have ever seen on a bike. And don't judge by the images, you have to see it and touch it in reality.I was and still am amazed
honda have always been the one that makes thing out of the ordinary in there motorcycles whether that be turbocharged (CX) or 6 cylinder (CB) or hondamatic (CB) or VTEC (VFR) or dual combined braking (CBR1100) or FI or traction control (CBR) or oval piston (NSR) these guys are leaders in this industry. They write the book.
it's an option dingdong you don't have to get the automatic version sheeesh they make a manual version too, talk about a close minded hater, Honda is the most advanced motorcycle company out there
I was interested in this bike at first..Til I read that it has dual trans..It seems like Honda is trying to get away from changing gears on your own..Which is just boring..I'm thinking if you cant change gears, why not just buy a scooter?Dont turn sportbikes into something lame..Automatics for kids or people that cant really drive for real..Honda sucks..I no longer care for them.
Actually you have the option of the traditional manual transmission or the dual clutch semi-automatic transmission. (Similar to set-ups on Formula 1 and high end sports cars. And formula 1 drivers aren't kids.)
It's kind of dumb to say "Honda Sucks" because you're too close minded to accept a "Semi"-automatic transmission. Honda's been in the motorcycle business longer than any other motorcycle company out there. They know what they are doing. And they continue to revolutionize the industry.
Although I certainly don't think Honda sucks, they are by no means the oldest motorcycle company around. Honda was founded in 1946. By that point Harley Davidson had already been in business for 43 years having been founded in 1903. BMW and Moto Guzzi were both founded in 1921. Triumph was founded even earlier in 1883, but they went out of business completely for a number of years in the 1980's, so they haven't been in continuous operation for that entire time.
No Sweat - your overall point is well taken. Honda certainly does not suck. To the contrary I would say that they build phenomenal products. Whether you like the styling or concept of this bike is a matter of personal taste, but I'm confident it will be well executed. I've owned a bunch of Honda products over the years ranging from motorcycles to lawn mowers, and all have been extraordinarily reliable.
There's a full review of the VFR1200 at bike journalist Kevin Ash's website. Can't post a link here directly but if you google ashonbikes the site if the top hit. Disappointing bike considering all the hype...
As usual the ridiculous power figure that all manufacturers quote has now been dropped to a believable around 175 BHP according to MCN. And if that's at the crank the losses in the transmission and shaft will put it around 150. I true winner is the flat torque and tractability. My blackbird will stay for now...
Usual fucking retards, most of which bought their 5th gen 2nd hand and have never given Honda a dime, then expect Honda to listen to them. The RC days are over cunts, get over it.
Not only its ugly but nothing at all like the concept pictures. No hubless wheels, no rad design. Nothing. Why did they waste our time with a "concept" they weren't planning on building at all? Plus it won't beat the Busa or the Kawi ZX1400. Honda has the means to make the ultimate power open class bike. I don't think this is it.
where is the blackbird replacemant ??? i love my cbr1100xx but is old and this v4 loks good but suzuki hayabusa and zx14 are still in front off us honda riders. we need the old blackbird with new look and 200hp at lest not a chep v4 engine and automatic transmition. HONDA do you realy whant as to buy hayabusa or zx14 because you are incapable to build for us something that beats thouse two??????
I have seen so many bad comments about the shaft drive, but I just got done burning up a brand new set of chain and sprockets on one sub 4k mile ride. At this pace, I have to change the drive system each time I change tires.
This bike doesn't appear to be something that's supposed to match up against the zx14 or the hayabusa or the fj 1300 or the concours14, it appears that it's supposed to basically be a heavy-middleweight sport tourer sort of like the bandit 1250s. Now if Honda took the st1300 and redesigned it (hopefully making it lighter w/better range), that could be a great contender.
Since the V65 MAGNA, Honda's not made a BADAZZ BIKE FOR THE STREET. No wonder that I haven't bought a Honda since.
Market, shmaarkett...hey, SUPERSIZE that new V4 and give us a B-King/VMax/Busa/ZX14 KILLER STREET BIKE with 300 HP weighing 400 lbs and lose the automatic transmission while you are at it.
Come on HONDA.....you can do it! You have the R&D and the money. Oh, one more thing, email me when it is ready to be picked up.
Apparently you know nothing of the Honda Blackbird and what the potential could have been if they refined it more so with more horsepower. They still wear those CBR1000's out and very comfortable to ride to boot. V65??? Read up on sport touring a bit more
It will not replace your CBR1000RR, it will not handle like your CBR, nor will it outperform your CBR. It will, however, get you to work and back and to holiday and back in comfort.
As long as Honda do not price this as if its Italian, it will do well. Shaft drive for a tourer is a reluctant acceptance of the reality of the market place at last. Right up against the Kwakka 1400 is the challenge, and its been specialed down to $17,500 in Oz.

Hmm, quite ugly... I prefer Hayabusa, ZZR1400, Ninja ZX-12R & Super Blackbird all day every day.
Why didn't they made a new Super Blackbird instead? 13 years later, the Super Blackbird from 1997 is so much more cool and beutiful than this.
