This vid shows Justin's versatility with his guitar-playing as he performs these folk/ballad-like songs on his classical guitar (like John Denver who I also love), and also rock out on his favorite electric Gibson 335 performing the Moody classics. I never tire of watching him perform any type of song - Justin rocks!
@twinklebear22 Love your comments & those of your beautiful sisters; it gratifies to see that Justin gleans the heart love as well that he deserves -- Music be the food of love, play on Justin, gentler than a man--Van Morrison. What do you make of that song by Van from his album Enlightenment (fine album) called, "Justin"? Is Van making light of Justin as a blues-man? Giving tribute to him? Don't find Vans song on the Tube. Both Van & Moodies record on Polydor; so, consent seems likely..
@davidfaubion Thank you my friend!! You know, that is a very good question that you ask. I have always tried to figure that one out myself. Sometimes jealousy can really be heard in a song and somehow I feel that off of that song by Van. But again, that is my take on it, I am sure people may have different opinions of course because we all see things from a different perspective but I feel there is jealousy involved on Van's part. :))
a very underated guitar player..remember justin played rhythm and lead for the moodies..and has steadily improved over the years..I would say he is very much on par with lindsey buckingham as a guitar player but with a much better voice. his talent took the moodies over the top.
and he does play some interesting tunings kinda like david crosby - which is kinda tricky..bravo justin.
Beauty, truth, soul, art and heart of the art @ 2.10 minutes to 3.35 : 1.25 minutes total of ah man, wish we could hear it all. -- This interview distracts, depletes the art; singer songwriters do better, IMHO, when that just stay in the trance of their creative magic keeping the rest of us there with the artist and the gift: the culmination of years of love, devotion and surrender.
@davidfaubion Still, it's worth it to hear Justin speak of his affinity with Richie Havens, Joni Mitchel, and Jimmie Spheeris. So, to heck with my criticism of this interview; love it all, especially rock beyond the same old tuning and three or four basic chords. Like your comment, nootarmus, thank you.
there is not nor will ever be another band like the Moodys. They wrote and played quality music with talent unlike so many bands today that just play junk to make a quick buck.
Beyond a doubt, one of the most under~rated musicians in the world. I just learned the proper way to play "Question" today. Now I only need a Guild 12~string (instead of a Stratocaster!) and a good voice!
Most people do no appreciate or understand good, solid music. The Moodies and Hayward dont have to prove themselves to the "Clowns " who control the Rock and Roll hall of Fame". These Morons dont know what music is. Most I will bet cant even play an instrument!!!!!!!!!!!!
Justin Hayward is the bomb. His lyrics and guitar playing is not only under rated, but under appreciated as well. He is one of Rock's best influences and deserves to be in the HOF.
Fabulous! When Justin sang a Blue Jays song (Who Are You Now) at The Station Inn, I was floored. So very beautiful. To find he does that now when going solo speaks volumes to me. I wish that was added to their touring setlist. Never Comes The Day has always struck me hence my tagline 'If only you knew what's inside of me now...'.
Very interesting to see the guitarwork, the tunings with the different chords, the fast switch from fingerpick to pick on the second song and the slide. I've played these two for quite some time, but always with standard tunings, hammering on rather than sliding that bit in the second song.
Every time I listen to you, it is like the first time. I keep you in my mind. Ilove your lyrics. Your guitar is more than an instrument in your hands, It speaks of you and to me. Thank You

Wow, this is a great video, thank you so much for shareing it with us. It's no wonder why so many of us LOVE Justin. He's one in a billion. Thanks again.
I really loved this one. Justin is so relaxed.I dont know why, but every time I listen to the Moodies, I get a very melancholy feeling about the future and what we will do without them. I love them so.
The music is impressive, but I really liked the interview- it was amusing. I could tell those "studio musicians" he's talking about were probably American. He doesn't get cheesy and try to imitate their accent outright, but he does sound kind of American when he's relating the kind of attitude they had. :-)
This really is a song that everyone can relate to. Who doesn't remember their first love and look back on life later and wonder what happened to them. Justin says he pens songs to relate his feelings about things, and lose feelings come through so well!
I believe it's an earpiece, part of the sound equipment. This clip should be titled "Justin Hayward - Rock Hall" because the Moodies weren't there; just Paul Bliss the night before (private performance after dinner).
Does anyone know the tuning for this song? I always played a C walkdown to the G chord. Watching and listening to how he plays it makes me really appreciate this great tune even more.
I like this song and his rendering of it. And not just because I've written a successful book of short stories called Who Are You Now?

Lot of jealous musicians
from Britain who did not make it as big here are probably involved in the red tape.
It is called "jealousy". Justin knows his
fans have awarded him that. He is not
upset (in public) about it anyway.
I have a feeling this award he gave up a long time ago, but is gracious enough
to be their guest to play. What a real
gentleman. A very professional and
talented musician on many levels.
He is the best all round!!!!
