Does December 07, 1941 mean anything to you. If Japan have not sent to bomb Pearl Harbor on that day, Hiroshima and Nagasaki would not be nuked in 1945.
You have to know that the Hiroshima peace park isnt saying "look what you have done" its saying "lets not let this happen again" I have been there twice... The japanese are putting the picture across that wars a A Bombs shouldnt be used... its a peace park.
@2226153 True. Had the war gone on any longer, the Russians would have intervened eventually. Japan, like Germany, would have been split in two. A communist North, and a democratic South. I hate nuclear weapons, and I hope that they're never used again.
it is not fair for someone to determine to kill thousands of innocent people just to the point of being to be most powerful country in the world. look at iraqies how they spend christmast and new years eve now after the 911 unnecesary war...
Don't look at just certain episodes in this war, look at the entire picture. 200,000 civilians dead vs. 500,000 to 600,000 American dead by invasion of Japan. The math is correct...400,000 American and Japanese lives saved!
If you kids don't get your facts straight about this war, it will happen again! Your grandfathers, and grandmothers fought this war for a reason. Don't let your freedom die in your ignorance! Remember what the Japanese did to the prisoners they captured in Battan. Study what the Japanese did to the people of Nanking when they invaded it.
The Emperor again put his people in jeopardy by saying that we couldn't do it again! After Nagasaki, the Japanese government agreed to unconditional surrender.
Japan was in the wrong in this war, NOT the U.S.A.! They had been warned by the U.S. Government of the existence of our possession of the A-bomb before we dropped it on Hiroshima. A courtesy they did not bestow upon us at Pearl Harbor. When we told them that we had it and we were going use it if they did not unconditionally surrender, they refuted us, saying that we were bluffing. After we dropped it on Hiroshima, we told them to unconditionally surrender, or we'll do it again.
If you were of any other race or nationality, you were either killed on the spot, or put into either slave labor, tortured to death, or both. If you were a woman, you were raped...sometimes daily by multiple soldiers. If you had children, they too would either be raped, tortured, or were killed in front of you. They would have destroyed all of the peace-loving religions like true Christianity, Buddhism, and Confucianism, and replaced them...by force, with Shinto.
Japan's arrogance, her false belief of racial superiority, and the "three all's" are what caused this. Think about how it would be if we lost, and they had won the war. If you were Japanese, you would be forced to join Shinto-the state religion. If you didn't, you and your family were incarcerated and tortured until you did. If you were Buddhist, you were incarcerated, tortured, starved, and eventually killed.
America didn't do a stupid thing... they did a necessary thing. The Americans didn't want to go to war, but it was JAPANESE AGGRESSION IN ASIA that started all this. If the Japanese had stopped military expansion in Asia when we told them to, then we would not have embargoed our oil against them, and they would not have bombed Pearl Harbor.
your right american did do a stupid thing but some people even japanese people i have spoken to think it was the right thing as it ended a seeminly endless war. hiroshima is a sad and depressing place for a holiday
