@Dcj58199t4 Good stuff. I ordered the DVD from amazon and I was lucky to get it from there too, because it's one of those rarities. Another underrated John Thaw effort was The Capone Investment. Made before The Sweeney, it featured him as a Regan-like character investigating his dad's murder.
@finnhere2 He was, especially in The Sweeney playing the ultimate rough diamond copper. This play was actually pretty good because he played a boxing trainer who wanted his charge to make it big, but he then saw that the bigwigs involved in the game were more bothered about money than talent.
I bought this on vhs at a charity shop last week. A damn good play and a lucky find

Oh tough he could be! I loved him also as Morse though, in a way he was such an anti-hero.
