Yum! My family was so poor when I was young I was lucky to even see bologna. However when we had some I would cook a fried sandwich...oh man like eatin steak lol. If you take a butter knife and sorta cut it like a pie in four slices not all the way through it will keep it from curling up.
wtf yall talkin about thats every day food... mind you i dont buy meat ever i trap and hunt it i got moose, bear, deer, elk ect and i bake my owen bread. any 1 that pays 3-5$ for a loaf of bread is a retard and needs to learn how to cook.
Dried beans are much better- and cheaper! They just require lots more prep time. But- my family has a good, healthy main/side dish for a week, when I cook a dutch-oven of my "cowboy beans". Oh, there is that one side effect(!), but a long soaking, minimizes it. :)
"Terrorist attack"???? You mean, like the ones OUR OWN GOVERNMENT DOES on the people of the US?
The US government is an animal that is out of control, serving ONLY it's own needs, and trying to keep the population in the dark about what's coming.
@inkey2 'weak stomachs' are only deffensive words used to describe people who haven't actually lived enough of their lives to get naturally 'strong' stomachs.
@WildyJohn lol....so you are saying that the older you are the stronger your stomach is??? Medically that statement is incorrect. Usually as humans age their health fails, ulcers, acid reflux, barrets esophogus etc.
@inkey2 I believe you a far to literal, and perhaps a bit slow? I was refering to the fact that 'inside' people are often weaker in many aspects because they to not subject themselves to hard living (what I like to call "living"...). Stop worrying and start living. And anyone who has had the pleasure of experiencing extended primitive/ultra-light camping trips (more than two months) knows that food is food, and the food presented in the above video is a lot better than berries, bulbs and salads.
I like 'em better with some onions diced into them and a liberal dollop of molasses added as well, then bake, not fry, the complete dish at high heat. You can also add a little Cajun and/or Italian seasoning.
FYI. I didn't ask a question. I Made a statement. And for those people who live in rural area's well I guess they will be the first to starve because the don't know how to make fire from raw materials or how to cook over a fire. How will they survive cooking in their apartments when the power and gas are shut off. You want to teach people about survival you are going about it the wrong way. People who live in cities level of what to eat and not to eat will change drastically. Good luck to you.
@jaytube72 wait a minute....you said that people who live in "rural" areas will starve first because they don't know how to make a fire? Are you using the right word.....rural means out in the country.......don't you mean people in the suburbs and cities will starve first? How many people in the city and suburbs know how to start a fire from raw materials............are you sure you know what "rural" means?
Survival food ? really? so if the world goes to shit you can just go and pick your food from the beans and weinner tree? That is not survival food. It is cheep food. Survival food is fish rabbit fowl ect. how stupid is this video. Prob 40 percent of the world survives one food such as this or worse on a day to day basis. What a joke.
@jaytube72 - I assume that you live off the land and hunt for your food everyday. Only a person who lives under a rock would ask such a question. Survival food is any kind of food that is edible and that can be cooked quickly at low cost and easily. Most people don't live off the land. They live in urban or rural areas, and they get their food from supermarkets, convenience stores, etc. Some people do not know how to cook or what to cook if most foods in their refrigerators or pantries are low-
cont)- especially for young people who are learning to cook for themselves. Anyone who lives in the wild would kill for this type of food if it were availible, that's the whole point.
Iv experienced starvation, and was saved..... funny thing is, you wont kill ( people ) for food... but you will kill for water.... after about 5 days, you are no longer hungry.. starvation is a very strange, experience. but, it is much less painful then thirst.
you will kill for water... it will force you too, food, is a much slower enemy.. it simply makes you weak... lack of water will drive you mad!
@arlmb : Do my comments sound like I've been homeless? Go and think about it.
Lame video. Normal cooking. Great Food though! Commenting on YT in threads like this is a waste of my time. The new generation is in for a big shock........
Thanks for this vid. I tried this food today and it was just great! It tasted good with spices and i estimate it costs me 1$ or even a little less to make this.
From now on, i will always have some extra beans around.
Easy on the salty stuff if water is scarce. Keep dried foods, they keep longer and they're lighter if they need transporting. Start saving seeds from everything you eat, you never know, you may need them. Bouillon cubes & tea make water taste better and help with foraged stews. Lastly, educate yourself. Learn what grows and lives in your area, and how to eat it.

Oh yeah, don't forget your dugout, stash, and a lighter.
Interesting video, well done. I would not survive w/o brown beans :-)
Cheap food, healthy and tasty ! I think you can do a better job on the prices, not sure. I'm from Holland but f.e that macaroni is packed far to luxereous. That bag of beans is cool ! :-D
I also try to imagine what happens with my life w/o electricity. We are so fully dependent of it. Bought many candles f.e
I agree 100% that most young people don't know how to cook. It really is a shame. So many things are lost to our generation. I hope we are never forced to relearn the hard way.
wow...somebody who knows about fried bologna sandwiches. i asked alot of people at work and they had never heard of it. my grandmother used to call beans "old life savers" from eating them in the depression because not able to afford meat i guess. anyhow i grew up down south so yeah. all this food is normal food to me. so i wont be feelin deprived really. 5*****

No need to add salt to canned beans. The food companies have tipped half the Utah salt flats in there already.

You'll probably lose electric. So you will need other means of heating food too and water purification tablets or bleach, to purify the water.
