  • this song fucking sucks! LET THE BEATLES PLAY IT FAGS!

  • they should have make it last longer. It's too quick!

  • This song is so cool. So funny whhen they carry the statue of liberty... she's so heavy!!!! heh heh heh

  • in the movie this song was used to portray the army conscription, so if it sounds sarcastic or cynical, thats why

  • this sounds almost comedic hehehe. Is this a joke, the vocals are really weird.

  • this movie was pretty cool

  • there's a lot of poverty in a lot of places for a lot of reasons

  • I love this version but when I hear John Lennon's it sounds so...I dunno. It gives me chills.

  • I love the very first and second "She's so Heavy" when Sadie just stands out and her voice is so amazing.

  • I don't remember Sadie singing the lyrics "She's So Heavy" in the movie.

  • @Animerate she is but you can't hear it because of all the stomping

  • @jesusfreaklol1 and also she signs part of it at the very end that you can hear when they are back at the apartment

  • Tha's because she doesn't :/

  • she dose to her guitarist only for a little bit thogh

  • you dont because she wasnt in this part.

  • @Animerate ya, i thought it was wats his face who goes in the army!!

  • joe anderson, in my opinion, is one of the best singers from this film.

  • @oliandpetefuckedme which one was that? jude or whats his face?

  • when jude's friend max goes to the army

  • this was mah fave part in the movie.

  • The movie, during the part where this song is played, Shows how Messed up people were after the Vietnam war.

War is Never good, Even if you are carrying the weight of Liberty and Justice on your back into combat.

  • I love music, in the sense that it can convey super complex ideas in the span of a few minutes when it would normally take a 1 hour documentary to just scratch the initial ideas. The training, the drugs, the war itself, the ideology, the re-admittance into society. In 3 minutes 44 seconds. I am not saying that the song is specifically about this, but the way the movie portrays the scene and characters is spot-fucking-on. The doctrine of America has never been so blood soaked.

  • @pntm lyrically put, dude.

  • @PsychoBoar which America didn't and never did. Vietnam is still fucked up even after what ? Almost 40 years ?

  • Did I say America did? No, I think not, nor did I say that we ever do.

  • @PsychoBoar I took it from the context you refered to America.

  • I don't know what you're talking about, but I've been to Vietnam. And it's an awesome place.

  • @ZeppzoIV Dude...c'mon, the country and the people are freaking 3rd world, there is lots of poverty in 'Nam

  • that's what communism does my friend. It looks good in writing, but is a corrupt system.

  • no one cares about politics when they're enjoying good music. shush!

  • @ImInTheMCRmy2468 Im sorry :)

  • yea what the hell!!!!!how can you be a pinkfloyd fan and know about 'the wall'??????..... that disgraceful

  • damnnn sooo true!

  • I like the movie version rather than the soundtrack version /: although the soundtrack version reminds me alot of the original version :p

  • Why wasn't this song on the sountrack? I was so upset. This movie was probably one of the best musicals ever because you hardly realize theyre singing cuz it just flows right into it. Everytime i watch it, i cry. :]

    Love this song <3

  • I totally agree. At first, I thought maybe it was included on the Deluxe Edition of the CD, but no dice....what the hey?!!!

  • They need to make a movie like this but with PINK FLOYD! That would be CRAZY!

  • check out The Wall.

  • its good album but Dark side of the moon is the best from pink floyd

  • They should've done a movie for that.

  • DURRRRRRRRR

  • They have, its called The Wall

  • It's more than just the music, they're also showing the times.

  • The have its called "the wall"

  • well even though i feel the beetles are way cool. it's nice to have a movie where all the songs fit. I liked the movie, but it seemed to me like they were going to non stop sing. they didn't play lucy in the skyy.. till the end. still good though. just saying

  • W the Beatles forever!!!

  • The Beatles

  • :S People are quite stupid. Thinking that this movie was to fix the beatles songs. it was a musical inspired by the beatles songs. People redo musicals hundreds of times over, does that meen you are just going to use that exact same recording for everyone?

  • First starters, Lennon was always the way he was and the fact that people in general want to cover or incorporate the BEATLES in some way shape or form is awesome!

  • this wasn't on my soundtrack for somereason!

  • same with me...it turns out it was only available if you buy the soundtrack at best buy =(

  • yes, thats true to a degree but the point of this movie wasn't to "compare" to the beatles.

  • i was just saying

  • She's So HEAVYYYYYYYYY

    Love that part

  • My biggest problem with this version is the way it ends. When John Lennon orignally wrote it, he intentionally had it just stop suddenly. Not die out with a cymbal roll, stop.

  • I completely agree.

Don't fix something that isn't broken

  • I'm sorry, but this movie did NOT do good to the beatles. give me a thumbs down, I don't care, I'm just a hardcore beatles fan.

  • I strongly believe that this movie is the worst thing to happen to The Beatles since Yoko Ono. Maybe its because I've been listening to The Beatles for so long, but this sounds like some constipated/drunk guy singing on The Beatles: RockBand. Epic Fail Across the Universe

  • finally someone who agrees with me

  • Augh. This pales in comparison to the original....

  • this is one of the coolest dance numbers i have ever seen who ever choragraghed this did a kiss ass job

  • Agreed. I kind of love the dance.

  • SHE´S SO HEAVYYYYYYYYY!

  • this song in the movie scared me. the army thingy people were scary,

  • hahahaha i KNOW right lol

    I WANT YOU SO BAAAAAD!

  • im flattered....lol...i made a funny!

  • This song scared the crap out of my friend. XD

  • Joe Anderson. Joe Anderson. <3

  • i like the one he sings when he gets mad at the girl awesome movie

  • Revolution! I love all of the songs and the movie is b.a!

  • the lesbian girl sounds so hot

  • i just watched this and i knew for sure max was going to die. i'm glad he didn't. this is an awesome movie and this was my favorite song besides the walrus song and all we need is love....

  • Haha, I was same thing. D:

I thought he was a goner.

    Glad he made it. :)

  • I <3 Max

  • I love the beatles.

  • the bast part is when they carry lady liberty and sing-shes so heavy:)

  • I love the drumming in this song. In my head i like to put it with army- sounding snare drum bits.

  • yeah uncle sam was singing, but with max's voice. you both win

  • the way this song was staged was perfect for the time period

your are drafted -you will report and fight in a war that nobody wanted to fight !

the statue of liberty said it all !

  • the soldiers in this scene were a little freaky...

great movie though...its the right kind of wrong

  • Uncle Sam is singing.

  • i love this song it reminds me of kid rock youre so hot

  • who sings this song

i've seen the movie btw i just dont remember but it sounds like max

  • its uncle sam

  • no, it's max.

  • actually it's really maxwell. as in maxwells silver hammer. the beatles expert isaiah

  • ... doesn't take an expert for that one. o.O

  • the beatles. duh.

  • if u saw duh movie for this song ur will get scared by der faces

  • This part kinda scared me

  • gives me goosebumps... LOVE it!

  • I love this movie it puts me in the mood!!!!!!

    lol

  • this is my favorite dance in the movie.

    love it

  • I mean I like guys in their underwear as much as the next guy but.... Haha jk yea it was awesome with the floating cubicle stuff

  • these songs ARE awesome but they wouldn't be here without the beatles... no one will ever replace the beatles!!!!!

  • You can prefer one or the other, but to say the movie ones are just "better"..well thems fightin words.

  • i didnt mean better i just prefer the ones from the move

srry didnt mean for it to come outr that way

  • This is new to me. Who's performing?

  • Joe Anderson, Dana Fuchs and I'm not sure who else.

  • And T.V. Carpio, towards the end

  • this song is driving me mad :P

  • the orig version is a bit darker aurora

  • absolutely amazing

  • GOOD GOOD GOOD.

  • i just love this version *-*

  • good song. i love it

  • that part of the movie when they are carrying the statue of liberty sends shivers up my spine

  • Isn't there a darker more heavy version? Though I like this version lots I need a really dark one for a friend

  • Awesome song!!

  • Love both this version and the original soooo much.

  • i definitely like the movie version the best.

  • its not the same as the movie??????

  • I sung this ofr a talent show, But my voice is quite of halfway between Prudence and Sadie, and i won first price :P.

I love this cover of the song (L)

  • i loved this scene in the movie!!

  • ME TOO!!!!!

  • i always sing

'i want you, i want you so bad

    ' to my girl

  • i think thats pretty cool, if you've got the voice for it xD

  • i sing this song all the time in writing haha and i only know "i want you i want you so bad" haha

  • Great covers(listened to a few) who the H is it????

  • the actual writers of the song? the beatles.

  • it's from the movie "Across the Universe"

  • amazing amazing amazing cover. cannot stop listening to it.

  • The part with She's so heavy is that they are carrying the Statue of Liberty which symbolizes them carrying America on their shoulders.

  • And them carrying "freedom" and "liberty" Across The Universe.

  • aka 'exporting' our policies through military force :)

  • The most horrendously obvious metaphor in a movie ever. Very powerful, though.

  • keeps always hanging in my head :D super cool song! and awsome movie!!

I want you!! i want you so baaad!!

  • This tune haunted me all day xD So I just had to listen to this song.

  • AWESOME COVER!

  • I love tis stinkin'movie

  • the cotton balls show up as shadow on the x-ray

  • i was sad this wasnt on the soundtrack, i checked all of the editions too, i bought the "special edition" and still no i want you :(

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!! <3<3 the scene where hes on that long moving ramp thing where he's getting stripped looks sooo cool!

  • i know it was really well choreographed

  • i got ripped off this song isnt on the cd

  • I KNOW!!! I was furious when this wasn't on the CD!

  • man, this is one scary scene and one really scary remake of a Beatles song...

  • i'm so confused. is this on the across the universe soundtrack or is this the original song? sry if i sound like an idiot.

  • The original is sung by The Beatles. As for this version of the song, it's not on the original Across The Universe Soundtrack but on some special edition version.

  • can someone say guitar hero...

  • im so mad this song wasnt in the soundtrack

  • It's on the 2 disc edition. All the songs are. They really left out some good songs.

  • i bought the 2 disc edition and it didn't have it. but it's on itunes

  • hey wasnt this the part when this person goes to the army and there like saying i want u

  • Yeah, when Max gets drafted and he goes to the check-up or something lke that and Uncle Sam says "I want you" in the beginning.

  • Yeah. Max has to go to that army thing, where they check him up. To make sure he has no poisonous diseases, etc. In the beggining of the vid, it's funny, he tries swallowing cotton balls to look like a tumor, I think. Or something like that.

  • I believe it was to look like a spot on his lung, or something like that.

  • Yep. It's also the coolest looking scene in the movie.
