This was a college competition, so it was held in the only space large enough to accommodate everyone. It was my first competition, but from things my coaches said I got the feeling that quite a few competitions are held in gymnasiums. This one was at MIT, in Boston. Harvard's competition, also in Boston is also held in their gym.
