Slowly, people ARE starting to realize what Fox and other media outlets are all about... It's time for the News to be News again. 3 part solution: 1. Every channel must provide a 1 hour News program WITHOUT COMMERCIALS. 2. News programs should not be rated by any Ratings system. 3. All News Channels live by the same rules, but are "Pay TV" for revenues as opposed to advertising.

The controversy may have come from the recount. The MN Secretary of State (a democrat) "found" ballots in his car that were added to the recount that Franken ended up winning. Also, accusations arose that in certain counties that Franken won, there were more votes counted than voters. As a citizen of the state, I thought something was askew. And it looks like Secretary Ritchie will pay for it with his job come this election.

The problem with news coverage on Fox News is simply that people are confused by the inclusion of the word News in the name of the channel. Once you realise that is not a news station, and as one of their favorite talking heads is kind enough to point out, it is a station dedicated to commentary you can accept it for what it is, entertainment.

It's actually simple common sense that absentee ballots swing democrat when you look at the two biggest demographics that cast absentee ballots. They are (in no particular order) the active duty military families and college students. Even in the south where I am from active military voted about 50/50 dem to republican. But in a state outside of the bible belt why are you the least bit surprised the college kids (the ones who moved outside their voting districts) voted overwhelmingly liberal?

The controversy may have come from the recount. The MN Secretary of State (a democrat) "found" ballots in his car that were added to the recount that Franken ended up winning. Also, accusations arose that in certain counties that Franken won, there were more votes counted than voters. As a citizen of the state, I thought something was askew. And it looks like Secretary Ritchie will pay for it with his job come this election.

Oh please, it's clear why Fox hates Franken so much -- he wrote books tearing them to shreds. Lies, and the Lying Liars who Tell Them went after Fox News, most specifically BIll O'Reilly, but also Sean Hannity. He then followed up with The Truth with Jokes, which, again, tore Fox to shreds. To them, Franken isn't just dangerous because he's a democrat, he's dangerous because he's given well-researched critiques on the network, and the larger the mouthpiece he has, the more danger Fox is in.

The biggest reason for this financial crisis is the collapse of the sub- prime housing market in which Fannie and Freddie were forced to hand out home loans to people who couldn't afford them. The toxic assets created foreclosures and defaults in the amount this country has never seen. bottom line: 24 hr news channels suck. no matter how balanced and fair they seem to be, their job is to fill 24 hours. we end up with a lot of dreck that's not news, period.
that alone conditions people to think trivia IS news. and after how many years of this now, we all think this is normal. sigh.

Not really. We have a,lot more nes offered to us nowadays than we did 40 yrs ago.
Again, my issue with Fox is that they are BY FAR the most guilty when it comes to misleading the public. It's proven over and over, I'm not sure why ppl continue to deny it.
I've spoken my peace on this subject, I laid out some of MSNBC's history and how they became to be how they are and WHY.
And CNN is not meant to talk OPINION politics 24/7....

nice video. you put little intentional glitches like these on the air, and they add up. soon, the viewer starts having their "own" ideas that franken was involved in a scandal. that then gets repeated to their friends at work or the bar, etc. soon, everyone believes it was broadcast all over Fox news as fact.
BUT, and here's the kicker, this is how CNN and MSNBC work too! take your blinders off people, and do your own footwork.

Fox takes deceit to a whole new level.
Comparing them to CNN is like comparing a rapist to a jaywalker.
CNN is a different style of news, they're more international. And the fact that they dont bash the president 24/7 doesnt make them liberal or biased left.
But Fox creates "mountain ot of molehill" stories, then when no one else covers it (bcuz it isnt news) Fox beats their chest and tells their viewers that theyre the only ones "lookin out for ya" and "askin the tough questions".

MSNBC use to have a policy of 2 right winged guests for every 1 left wing guest, as what they felt was a counter to Fox's reputation of extreme right bias.
I appreciate that they tried. But ppl are drawn to fear, scare tactics, Glenn Beckish sensationalism,
so they said fuk it and decided to give Fox a little of their own medicine.
And they still manage to do it in a much classier way than Fox does.
They may be biased left. But there's a difference in bias & dishonest.

The problem with news coverage on Fox News is simply that people are confused by the inclusion of the word News in the name of the channel. Once you realise that is not a news station, and as one of their favorite talking heads is kind enough to point out, it is a station dedicated to commentary you can accept it for what it is, entertainment.
Not that much different from say Saturday Night Live, albeit they are not very funny.

It's actually simple common sense that absentee ballots swing democrat when you look at the two biggest demographics that cast absentee ballots. They are (in no particular order) the active duty military families and college students. Even in the south where I am from active military voted about 50/50 dem to republican. But in a state outside of the bible belt why are you the least bit surprised the college kids (the ones who moved outside their voting districts) voted overwhelmingly liberal?
