I work for local news in Virginia, which sees its share of storms during hurricane season. We get calls like that all the time if we dare consider taking off a popular show (i.e. Wheel of Fortune). And yes, I've had viewers tell me they don't care because it's nowhere near them. I usually chuckle, but on the day of the Virginia Tech shooting, a lady told me to go back to Oprah because we're not saying anything new. If I didn't like my job I would've told her to go fuck herself.

Every time it rains here Time Warner Cable interupts every channel with this annoying "BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ" then some robot voice starts talking "THE NATIONIANAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES..." robot lists every county in the state. Message goes away and two minutes later you get to hear it again. Hey fucks if a tornado rips through my house hearing about it 5 minutes earlier ain't gonna help, I know it's raining outside, should be an option to turn off.
To be fair, once my local weathermen started interrupting a rerun of america's funniest home videos that I was really enjoying, over some stupid storm that didn't really matter, and I got just as mad (Didn't call, but bitched). "There is no tornado warning or watch, but we know sometimes storms like these can produce tornados. There will be damaging winds, rain, etc blahblah", the storm was weak, I was disapointed and I missed my AFV rerun.

I agree with this woman, I live in Kansas City and whenever it sprinkles a little bit fucking Katie Horner comes on the tv and starts acting like it's the fucking end of days, for a tornado on the the very fringes of the viewing area.
Last night it poured buckets but the bitch didn't come on. First it was the weekend and second it was raining in the greater Metro area not out in Butt Fuck Egypt. Sever weather break ins are not about the weather they are about ratings.

Every time it rains here Time Warner Cable interupts every channel with this annoying "BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ" then some robot voice starts talking "THE NATIONIANAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES..." robot lists every county in the state. Message goes away and two minutes later you get to hear it again. Hey fucks if a tornado rips through my house hearing about it 5 minutes earlier ain't gonna help, I know it's raining outside, should be an option to turn off.

To be fair, once my local weathermen started interrupting a rerun of america's funniest home videos that I was really enjoying, over some stupid storm that didn't really matter, and I got just as mad (Didn't call, but bitched). "There is no tornado warning or watch, but we know sometimes storms like these can produce tornados. There will be damaging winds, rain, etc blahblah", the storm was weak, I was disapointed and I missed my AFV rerun.
