@kwabman first concept album goes way back in the 50s...jazz album called Miles Ahead by Miles Davis...but since we ARE talking about Rock...sure" first one is either by the kinks or the beatles...

@gabbo1974 Sgt.pepper was 78; DSOTM was released in 73 and being finished up at abby roads while Sgt.pepper was being recorded.

The 1st concept album in Rock History was by The Kinks. It was Face to Face and it came out in 1966. Why couldn't anyone be bothered to find this out or to look it up I wonder? Seems simple doesn't it?

@abbeyroadlover08 i can think of a lot of jazz albums from the 50s and late 40s that can be considered "concept albums"....there is more to The History of Music than the beatles you know :))
