The Electra is key here. It's already mentioned in the interview that other people lived on that island at some point. Without the Electra, i don't see this going anywhere. DNA results on the bones should have already been enough, but eventually they weren't because we haven't heard anything yet. It doesn't take this long to analyze DNA.

@KesslersCross you can boil salt water,but that does not make it fresh. the fresh water gets evaporated, and all your left with in the pot is even saltier water, since the salt content stays the same but the volume of water decreases. the only way to get fresh water from salt water is to distill it, by trapping the steam, however doing this with all natural material in a survival situation is pretty much impossible.

I found an article about this and did a report about it for my Reading class. I think this is so cool. I hope it turns out to be the area Amelia Earhart spent her last days. That would be amazing.
I too hope that the story can come to fruition once and for all. I've followed the history of this since I was young. I was a ham radio operator at the age of 11 (1959) so the investigation of radio transmissions, etc. has always been of interest. Thank you for your work and dedication. So many fire pits indicate numerous visitors through the years. They could even be excavating a site that existed prior to Earhart's disappearance. They located a ton of stuff from a Coast Guard station located there in WW2. Deserted islands are not devoid of inhabitants over decades. The reason site 7 is the place to look though is bcause it is tangent to the 157-337 sun line that is perpindicular to the horizon point of the July sunrise. That's where to find a pilot.

I too hope that the story can come to fruition once and for all. I've followed the history of this since I was young. I was a ham radio operator at the age of 11 (1959) so the investigation of radio transmissions, etc. has always been of interest. Thank you for your work and dedication. We'll keep our fingers crossed that the DNA tests reveal a result, one way or the other.

So many fire pits indicate numerous visitors through the years. They could even be excavating a site that existed prior to Earhart's disappearance. They located a ton of stuff from a Coast Guard station located there in WW2. Deserted islands are not devoid of inhabitants over decades. The reason site 7 is the place to look though is bcause it is tangent to the 157-337 sun line that is perpindicular to the horizon point of the July sunrise. That's where to find a pilot.

This is so interesting, I have wondered about the demise of Amelia Earhart since I was very young. I will anxiously await the outcome of the DNA samples. The story in our family is that my Aunt knew Amelia, who knows! I hope they get the funds to go back and search for the possible location of the airplane.
