WWII was 65 years ago. That war was based on a general draft, no contractors. You wanted a bridge built, the army built it with free grunt labor. A town started acting up, you squashed it. Maybe some people died, maybe not. There wern't cameras everywhere. We flattened Germany and Japan with overwhelming force, and Macarthur was sensitive and kept the Emperor in place, garnering respect from the Japanese. Today, we have NO draft, not ENOUGH forces, and morons running the show...no comparison.

Basically, if U.S. wasn't in Iraq trying to find individuals among civilians then those "individuals" wouldn't be a threat. U.S. is well protected at the moment and I doubt those individuals are a threat in U.S.

This just means that there has to be a balance within military, if there wasn't anyone to fight, what would U.S. will all the spare money they use on equipment, weapons, machines and vehicles?

For a hint on he is, or if you crossed paths, he is one of the few soldiers of Middle Eastern heritage in the US Army.
