  • Ahhhh.. i like Volodos playing soo much, its so powerful and leaves such a strong impression.

  • 1:57 is he...picking his nose with his violin?

  • Gänsehaut!!!

  • This amazing perfomance of Volodos just makes me hate lang lang version more than before!

  • Love it!

  • from russia with love

  • i love all the parts ..

  • Volodos - amazing inner hand strength. Truly clean playing - ala Gould.

  • a brilliant piece of music, a fabulous performance and such a wonderful pianist, this made me cry

  • Bravo!

  • @MrGabrielle88 stfu dickface

  • This is a great posting. So often we hear recordings on youtube of this concerto where the soloists make mistakes in the first passages of the first movement. From what I can see, this is faultless playing.

  • I can never take this piece seriously after seeing Monty Python's sketch of it... /watch?v=dvpALlP_7lE

  • I love Tchaivovksky

    Schade! Aber Volodos ist sensationell

  • This is so nice! To me, the playing looks in its expression close to the Richter's recording with Karajan.

  • excelente !!!!!!

  • I love this.............

  • @Aimiklingsor93 What would be the benefit of playing while sitting on a chair as opposed to a bench?

  • ein Traum...

  • And people said this concerto sucked. Psh.

  • LOL @ 1:57 guy in the background with his violin up his nose... "hurry up, I wanna play..."

  • Meraviglioso!

    Grazie.

    Luz

  • I WAS AT THIS CONCERT !!! It was marvellous, a beautiful evening and I am so please to see this recording.

Volodos is a great pianist, Neeme Järvi excellent and the musicians of the orchestra brilliant. What a sound !

  • @vuemusicale where was it located? do you know if Arcadi volodos visits usa? i really want to see him play live lol... your so lucky to be able to see him live, im a big fan of Arcadi Volodos

  • @Damgoodballers8 This is in Berlin, Germany: Philharmonie

  • is it at all possible to purchase a copy of this concert? I did the pass for 24 hours, but the thing is always choppy and the video is never as smooth as this one.

  • what a sound!

  • saw him yesterday in lisbon playing brahms <3

  • why do they sometimes alternate concertmasters?

  • Excellent!!

  • I LOVE this guy! No choreographed theatrics; great playing!

  • The beginning reminded me for some reason Dvorak's Symphony No. 5's second movement (youtube.com/watch?v=5O2VHdVnnps). This sounds great!

  • OMG I LOVE Tchaikovsky®

  • Oh my God he's playing on a chair!!!!!!! Never mind, this video is phenomenal!! I love it!!!

  • Bravo!

Don't you remember the chair of Glenn Gould?

  • Phenomenal !!

  • ....chairs similar to our chairs in our music school :D

    But music is a masterpiece...

    Bravo!

  • breathtakingly...

  • Amazing.

  • BRAVO!!!!!! Master-Work!!!!!!

  • there are dislikes on this video?!?!?! what?????

  • @wPHao Because he plays on a ugly chair. :D

  • Marvellous Music and musicians...Volodos is extraordinary..

  • WOW!!!

  • A bit odd he's playing on a chair? Nevertheless I love this concerto!

  • @pizza1512: No. He's sitting on a chair, playing the piano :-)

  • @pizza1512

No, he's actually playing on a piano.

  • @pizza1512 maybe the berlin phil chairs are just that awesome.

  • @pizza1512

there was a famous pionist...don´t remember who it was. But he took his own chair on every concert with him, because he was only able to play on HIS chair a good concert :P

  • @omfgWerBinIch Could it be Glenn Gould you're thinking about?

  • @calcmandan

    Yeeah, i think so (;

  • @pizza1512 Alot of piano benches make a creeky sound when sitting on it. When recording a concerto, you'd probably want a chair that'll make the least amount of noise so it doesn't translate into the recording. That's just my guess.

  • @calcmandan everytime i have seen volodos play he always uses a chair. seems odd because a stool you can adjust to your preferred height. where as a chair has to be exact.

  • @pizza1512 Always - I've never seen him use a piano bench. He needs the back support as he often leans way back.

  • Maravilloso.

  • beautiful

  • Octaves please!!!

  • @sebastianrc just type in arcadi volodos octaves

  • THE BEST piano concerto of all time!!!!

Tchaikovsky is a genius, no doubt!!!!!
