i have heard about this shravana deepam and first time i am seeing it, i been to thiruvinnagar but didn't had the opportunity to witness this occasion, nevertheless this ritual seems very not a srivaishnava rituals, it reminds me of those village devotees of amba or devi upaashaka or poosaaries or saamiyaadies ritual getting in trance... carrying fire pot..karagam..neem pot...etc

here instead of neem relaced by tulasi
