@robothotwing Unless you don't know what you are doing you never need to spend more than 700$ on a decent PC that is 10000 times better than any console out there. Also, how much did the TV on which you hooked-up your console cost you? Probably about 500? Plus the 300 for the console, 60$ for each extra controller, Xbox Live (If you play on Xbox), 20$ extra for every game that comes out (most games cost 40$ on PC). When you really look at it consoles are WAYYYY more expensive than PCs.

@Dimdim316 You forgot that if you want to play games enjoyably like BF3 or ARMA, then you DO need to spend more than $700. Probably around the 950-1300$ range. Then, if you don't already have them in the Tower, you need to upgrade RAM and graphics cards to suit these games, costing you hundreds.  PLUS, you need to buy a monitor as well! It is most likely that people already have a TV, so really for a console , you just need the console itself and online service.

Protip: Never buy pre-built PCs they usually are way more expensive than they should be and come with tons of useless features which take up your hard-drive space.
