This one was made using Adobe Premiere 6.5, but I've switched to Final Cut Pro (at least before my computer got stolen).

I'm not sure how iMovie or Windows Movie Maker handle audio editing.

how do u do the lightsaber effects?

Google "RotoScope" and Light Saber and several really nice tutorials come up. I used the slightly outdated Photoshop technique of breaking the footage down into individual frames, going in and drawing the saber shape, then applying various layers of color filters. They have software that does some of it for you now, though you still have to draw in the blade base and tip points.
