  • Man I wish I centered that well! Very cool. Would love to see a trimming video?

  • Hi Chris, Can you tell me what this song is and who sings it? Thanks

  • people who make everything look simple on the wheel make me angryy lol i get so frustrated with it

  • Wow you make it look so easy;-) Thanks so much, I will be giving it try soon;-D

  • i remember this video having another song to it. what happened???

  • had to take it off because of music copyrights

  • A church has asked me, a relatively new potter, to make communion challis's for them. Always excited to make new things, I said "ok"...then wondered how to do it...then I found Utube! Thank you so much for the lesson. Wonderful. Clay to the elbows, outstanding inspirational music, gave me goosebumps. We are so blessed to do what we have a passion for. Well, I also need to get some clay up to my elbows. Thanks again for the spiritual lift and hints on how to start to make the challis's.

  • Thanks for posting this! I was able to make my first goblet from watching your video :) Obviously yours is much more symetrical, but I sure enjoyed making it this way!

  • I've been trying to make a one piece goblet for ages. I watched this and voila, easy as pie. I did trim the base to be hollow after it dried. The solid stem was way to heavy.

Mine was a little smaller than I want, but with practice I think I can make it bigger. Now If I can just make 2 that match.

All in all much easier than throwing 2 pieces and attaching them.

    Thanks cka potter

  • i'm a potter and I wanted to flag it as one I found helpful.

So I could watch it again. I didn't realize flagging it meant I thought it was innappropriate.

  • Thank you for posting this. I went to my wheel and tried it. It's actually easier than making it in 2 pieces. And I love the music!

  • amazing!

  • That looks very nice - do you ever have a problem with firing the thick solid base?

  • no as i finish the base by trimming a finished shape and a hollow section

  • I trimmed the base to be hollow after it dried.

Dry it slowly under plastic on an absorbant surface (I used a scrap of sheet rock) trim when base is very firm. A giffin grip is handy if you have one, or use a chuck. cka potter

  • awesome~ I always thought goblets had to be two piece! Can't wait to try this.

  • I've never seen a single piece goblet before. Excellent idea. I assume they are more stable that way as well.

  • Very Cool! and love the music as well...

no more two piece goblets Yeah!

  • Thank you for that excellent demonstration!
