boxermonkey: the hairstlye,its a religious believe which is also in the tradition tht 'brahman's follow.(the men.)they keep their hair long,to show tht they are devoted to god & do not care as much abt their self appearance.& keeping ur hair long wifout cutting it(if eu pray tht eu wont cut it) then tht is part of the belief.

Its called an "ekkaalam", its an "S" shaped trumpet used for festivals and funerals. Its mainly played in the southern Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
