@fubunuz I appreciate the comment. I have not watched this video in a long time. In fact, I don't like watching many of them. I am so self critical. I never feel I get a good representation of my playing on these videos. Thanks again. I have done some Hendrix videos lately trying to emulate his tone which I think are interesting. The vintage Fender amps and Strats get very close.
im 16 and at high-school. it pisses me off cause everyone i know is into modern pop shit.
i play guitar and i love the soul of the good era of music... im a sucker for fender tone as well... i love playing hendrix and that sort of thing and i cant wait to have enough money to buy some vintage equipment. i just love this tone.
@ABarbe89 That is so cool to hear. The '60's really were the musical golden years which at the time everyone thought it would just get better with time. Be sure to check out the latest videos I did of Hendrix Tone Sound Checks. I myself have gone Hendrix crazy lately. I never thought I could touch his music until now. My most popular video is "1960 Tweed Bassman-Hendrix Tone Sound Check #1." You are on the right track. Keep saving for that Tweed Bassman. That would be my first choice.
@federicoribeiro They are good but it is hard to duplicate the Mojo of an original Bassman. They just don't make the electrical components now like they used to.
their guitar lines with that tube sound and eternal and unique, spent 100 years but the quality will always be this way! I liked the little that you played in this video congratulations!
@millstap Wouldn't usually reply in case people start a mac pc war but i've never had any problems at all ever (on windows or linux).. You were probably just unlucky, anywho still jealous of that tone :D
@ZakkHendrix666 I used a Framptone 3 Banger amp switcher which is one of the best but expensive. They have some nice ones that aren't as expensive. I think Lehl makes a good one. If i need to, I can run 4 amps at once but then I have to give up my direct out to my tuner. Two amps is enough but I can see times when I would want two amps plus my Leslie.
@O0Salmon0O Yes, I love my Mac and have had not one problem with it. I will never go back. I'm going to also get an IPad and and IPhone. This is me just trying to help others with their gear and I usually don't have a script. Sometimes I ramble and people just want to hear the amps so I am trying to be a little more to the point in my recent videos. I will be posting one about a new EVO Gold fret wire that I put on all of my guitars. I highly recommend it.
@S0D41 Thanks. I'm glad to see the blues is appreciated in Brazil. I just got back from Madrid last night so I have not be online in 10 days. I do play a lot. But sometime a break is needed. I did not touch my guitar for 10 days.
@TheDorkaholic505 Yes. That's an all original 1964 Strat except for the block. I put a Callaham vintage steel block in it because it has some kind of brass block in it when I got it.
@bille77 Thanks. Take a look at some of my newer vids too. I seem to keep getting a little bit better tone. I am going to buy a new Flip camera and get the Blue mic attachment and hopefully my audio quality will improve.
@qtip1064 Yes, I got the Mac and love it. No more problems and no more anti-virus software. What a scam that is. It never works but they tell you it is protecting your computer. I'll be a Mac user from now on unless something better comes out.
Those two amps together make the guitar sound really full. Do you have something boosting the two split signals? I'm assuming the effects chain is before the split.
@Supertzar999 My tone has changed quite a bit since this video. I realized the Bassman had been mis-wired for years. I think I was using the vintage Ibanez TS-808. I have switched to a Fulltone OCD which is much better. My signal chain now is: guitar, Area 51 wah-wah, Fulltone Supa-Trem, Fulltone OCD, Framptone 3 Banger amp splitter, one channel goes to the vintage 1963 Fender reverb unit then to the Tweed Bassman, the other one goes to either the Super Reverb or Vibroverb.
Thanks. Everytime I think I have a favorite amp combo, I play another one that sounds better. It just depends on how you feel that day. They all sound good in their own way.
Millsy you are a star! Love your playing you made my day dude!

@millstap Do you think that the '59 Bassman® LTD reissue is a good option for this?.
Thank you, your vids are really helpful.

So I hope you have been happy with the Mac you said you were getting ready to buy.
Great gear and noodling but all of the conversational accompaniment is enjoyable and insightful.

You know what would sound even better? Stick the super reverb in the closet and just play the bassman
whybotherwithauserna 1 year ago
If I had a Super Reverb and a Bassman I'd move to the middle of nowhere so I could crank both at the same time with no complaints.
