That video was shot in July of 2004. Kazimieras Paltarokas, a 26-time champion of Lithuania in girevoy sport.
Besides his Lithuanian championships, Mr. Paltarokas achieved 3rd place at internationals on two different occasions. At age 33 he held the Soviet record for snatching 32kg with one arm, 202 reps (no time limit). He holds and has held numerous other records and still competes regularly at the Master's level. Currently he is also an International Category Referee in girevoy sport.
@wyciskTV he is NOT hurting his arm at all. He has been doing this longer than you've been alive (assuming you are under 40 y.o.) He knows how to absorb the shock thru his torso.
I gotta agree with the rest of the folks on here, mtbiker122476: The ruskies are the masters of the kettlebell. I bought a few a couple of 'em months ago and now I've never touched a barbell since. Been doing more old-school stuff like this and one-arm pushups, divebombers, pistols, etc...things that emphasise more core strength than girly curls and leg extensions. LOL and I'm not saying you (mtbiker) do them, I just wanted to say it to the general public.
You know what's fuckin hard, and I'm ASSUMING works out your core, because I haven't been able to do one yet? A full-down one-legged squat. Sitting-on-your-ankle down. Hard.
You can only hurt your back as long as you fuck up the technique which in that case would be your fault. And he is a champ, which basically means there were times where he did this about 500 times a day making 3000 reps a week meaning about 120000 reps a year figuring that he might want three months off. Learn about girevoy sport before you look stupid :P

Word. I used to have pretty bad back problems. Swings and TGUs have pretty much taken care of them completely.

Yeah, I'd say since he's probably been snatching for 30-40 years or so, he might have it down by now. :)

That's what a "pistol" is my friend. They're really not that hard. I can do 'em. They're a lot of fun.

Dang I suck lol. I'm like a retarded baby-child when I'm doing fine balancing.

work on the eccentric portion of the pistol squat, and sooner than later you will get it easy

He is a world champ, doing that for 1000's of reps, and by the looks of it hasnt hurt his back yet. How many C&J's can you do?
