I think the reason why people say he always plays the villian is because he is sooo good at being bad that it just sticks on people more. In reality, he's played a good guy a lot more times. :)

@lizvandort666 I'd like to see that too, however, I think the reason why he chooses not to do interviews in costume is that he wants the viewers to distinguish him from his character. For instance, if he were in a Severus costume during an interview session, no doubt would many see him as SNAPE and not ALAN in spite of their diverse personalities, because when he's not acting, he IS Alan. Nevertheless, it would be nice to see him do at least one, but I doubt he ever will.
