I just found your site and thank you so much. The meals look awesome. I'm having beans and rice for lunch and add the green beans with them tonight for dinner. Do you have any wonderful deserts?
This video inspired me. I've been making crappy food choices with intermittent fasting the past few days. I feel certain if I eat carbs, I will NOT lose weight...ugh. How many times am I going to have to repeat this lesson before I finally learn. Thanks for this video Marjie. ((hugs))
Carbs are new for me too, specially rice and beans. But, for this detox deal I can't have eggs or cottage cheese and only 1/2 cup fruit a day. Once this is over I don't know what is next. I don't have the book yet. I am really loving this simple diet though.
Margie, you have excellent videos editing skills and a fantastic show and tell about this detox, I hope to hear more once you have finished the detox and see if you see signs of improvement.

It isn't sweet so some people might not like it. It is really more cereal like. I love it for the nutrition. It is loaded with omega 3 and 6. The calories are a bit high, specially with the added rice protein. I might not use the protein powder after this detox is over.
It all looks so good. When you showed the hot soup with the veg broth I thought... that would taste good with some Dill spice. If you get tired of the Oregano you might want to try Dill.
The book has a big list of veggies that can be used. I picked what i like. Kale, carrots, onion, cabbage, and winter squash. It is very tasty. Supposed to drink 2 cups a day.
Do the meals fill you up during the day ? You look great and i think i am going to try the breakfast recipe as i sometimes have a shake in the morning anyways =)
Yes, they do. If you do get hungry there are snacks and of course you can eat more of the beans and rice. After I am finished with this book I doubt I will use that protein powder again. I have been doing that morning shake for 2 years but used orange juice. For this diet it is to acidic.
wow, that all looked really good marjie! i could totally rock lunch and dinner. not sure about breakfast though =S ... i'm already on a brown rice & veggie kick at the moment b/c of "The Great Life Diet" book by Denny Waxman, which promotes eating savoury soup, brown rice and veggies as the staples of a healthy lifestyle. so maybe this 7 day plan wouldn't be too hard for me afterall ... =D

@Nosaltypeanut My only desserts (or should be) are fruit. I enjoy blueberries and raspberries mixed together. Sometimes I enjoy to many of them.

1,000 calories must be tough; I'm lucky if I reach my goal of 1750-1800. I like the pants btw. :)

The only thing I find tough is the rice protein and not eating beef or eggs. The amount of calories varies each day.
I am surprised at how much i am enjoying the navy beans and brown rice. I plan to add them to my food choices permanently.
So far the simple diet is cleaning me out just like it is supposed to, love it.

Calories are determined by age, height, sex and activity level. My maintenance calorie allotment for the entire day is 1443.
The important thing is to get proper nutrition from the calories and not to eat junk that turns to fat like grains, sugars and milk do.

That shake is good but I realize most people would want it more like a milk shake and it isn't. It is more like a nutty cereal.
