  • great painting, but is it jst me or is the right hand a bit skew wif particuarly the thumb??

  • good job.

  • I love the painting. I like the explanation why you did things the way you did. The only thing that is getting to me and this is probably becuase I am a girl who hates long fingernails.... Her nails are super sharp. Like .... broken glass sharp. haha Though I get the asthetics to it. She has a demon/ naughty thing going for her. Just couldn't get past the fingers.

Otherwise.... Loved this. I have been wanting to get a tablet and you gave pretty good info plus you explained a great way to start

  • Impresionat painting tecniques... with only a mouse!!!

  • it looks so real its scary

  • mouse or wacom...!!? one layer or two...!!? jeeez, can we comment on the pitcture rather than the tools... do you look at a Michelangelo and say "yeah he only used a 2 inch chisel..."

  • can you do sunisa kim

  • so u use it as a mouse? man thats just plain wierd. well, maby it works better with the graphite, but the intous should be used as a pen, dont think anyone else out there is used as a mouse =P

  • I now use an Intuos 3, 9x12 set to pen. So much better than graphire and bamboo.

  • @architectus777

    told ya =P

  • Great Illusion. Great Artistry. What Masterly!

  • that was amazing...

  • OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U R one talanted guy

    waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

  • dude that is talent like hell you are a good ass artist!

  • ang tagal nman ng result nakakainip puru salita

  • omg that is so awsome

  • Wow, very nice work! Beautiful.

  • This is great. You uploaded it on my birthday too :D

  • great vid learnt a few tips, chwck out a few of my paintings...

  • I like the result ;-) that's nice ! that seems very complicated for me to do with the computer but in the end, it gives a good result as a real picture ! that's great !

  • Okay, wow. Thank you so much for the commentary on this vid! You really nailed a few things down that I was unsure about on digital painting.

  • do u have a video of this available thats slower so i can see what kind of brushes and opacity you use for certain parts?

  • Marvelous. The graphire seems to work great for you. Who needs 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity? I'm saving my money and getting a Bamboo. Awesome work.

  • ha, thanks. :P

  • but why format it to act like a mouse? whats the advantages?

  • Show off... No.. I'm just jealous :-)

  • OMG you are damn good, please teach me ;)

  • wow thats awesome man hey you should watch this video by RBproductionsRB

its called richard's mix medium art

    and put comment to it

tnx 4 d vid man cool

  • Good job.Amazing WORK!!

  • wow!! im thinking more to get a tablet but i just do photoshop things to pass my time..

and i dont want to spend 400$ on one..

what is the one that u use and how much does it cost?(if i can ask)

    nice job btw!

    A+++ !! :D

  • Really awesome artwork. You can be there is a lot of professional training behind that art but some people just have a "gift " for such ability. That kind of skill is something I would really like to learn.

  • Thank you everyone for the comments. What is most important to me is that you were inspired to paints with a wacom, or learned something.

  • wow, that looks better than a real painting, a great work of art :)

  • o: Amazing work. I hope I can do this kind of stuff soon. :x I'm just getting into drawing, but so not going well. lol. I don't see soon there, but I see me doing it xD.

  • awesome

  • wow..ur good..

  • amazing dude.. amazinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng work.. goth is hot :)

  • thank you, and i agree

  • OMG!! you are great!

  • any chance of seeing this video non-speed-up, real time ?

    RapidShare link, maybe ?

  • omg. its WONDERFUL O.O

    i'm speechless

  • nice

    very nice

    very very nice

    its great !

    and the advices are usefull

  • Nice painting!

thansk for the advise, i have a wacom tablet, and ive been messing with it for some time, i just starting painting, and the advise to make it like a mouse relly helped! thanks

  • awesome

  • I'm so impressed. You must have a lot of knowledge about human anatomy and how light hits the figure. Bad taste in music though..

  • Agreed...

  • Really cool. You're very good.

But what I particularly liked was your lecture about tablets. ^^

  • hm nice!!! i liked the face a lot.. Most beautifull girls in paintings are so prety that you know it is fake but she is prety and natural.. I mean there is a strong possibility that you might see a girl that look like her in reality... Hm.. actually did you use the face of a real person you might know? i really liked it 5/5 keep up!!!

  • do u have deviantart or a webpage?

  • wow.

  • I have never tried blending with the actual brush itself. I have been using the blend tool on Photoshop and it sucks!

  • The only brush worthy of trying that with is the just add water brush in Painter X. Using the brushes them selves works best in photoshop.

  • If that is just a speed paint i cant imagine what your longer paintings would look like

  • CHO!☆KAWAYUI☆ Very cute and sexy

    beautiful GOTHIC GIRL

  • Nice, a great job!

But last it´s so good!! I need more learn how made draw one girl.. :P but i try do it :D

  • hey. great advice. im waiting for my intuos3 to come and i was just wondering if you have any advice on what the best drawing software to use is? i have photoshop CS3 extended. You think this is ok?

    thanks.

  • Everyone has different prefernce, but Photoshop and Painter are the top softwares used by professionals. I prefer photoshop although I do also use Painter.

  • thanks! ive never used painter but ill stick with photoshop.

  • Heh, I got a bamboo fun wacom for X-mas. Comes with a mouse!

  • YOU are absolutely amazing!!! Very good =]

For some reason I just can't get a hang of painting/drawing on my tablet. I find my lines are scratchy and tooooo pixelized. Any ideas?

  • Yeah first try using it both ways. Relative and Position. I prefer to use it with the mouse setting. If you try this be sure to turn off the acceleration otherwise it will feel broken. Work on a file at least 300dpi. Higher resolution is how to help get rid of that. Also zoom in a lot. WHen doing a sideways stroke use the rotate canvas feature. Also for drawing you must get an intuos.

  • HMMMMMM you cant afford a intous3 BUT you can afford photoshop CS?

  • I am saving up. I could buy it right now but I have other stuff I need to use my money for first. I bought my CS in a special deal for $200, when I was selling the software.

  • Neil,

you did such a great job on this. You truly are so talented. :)

  • I have zero visual artistic talent, but this is just incredible to watch. I give you five stars, thanks for spending the time to record this. It really is groovy.

  • I got a graphire earlier this summer for zbrush work, it's pretty awesome. Naturally I started to get into digital painting and now I have a question for you. I get stuck between the end of color blocking and detail work, what suggestions do you have to help me transition between the two? Also have you done other tutorials before I know I've heard your voice, did you ever do tutorials over on CGtalk/CGsociety? Anyway the paint was awesome and pretty helpful for me, Keep up the good work.

  • yeah I am architectus. I have a video on google that should help. Go to google video then type in the search NF painting. It should be the second video.

  • I went to your site, I actually have the remake you did of the nyph painting, infact all I know about digital painting came from that video you did and your pear video as well. I think part of my issue might be more of having issues with what I'm actually drawing instead of the paitings. I'm probably going to get my hands on camtasta later today so I'll post my workflow. You've actually been a really big help.

  • damn thats hot, btw the drawing, did you draw and scan that or did you do that with the tablet as well

  • quick tablet sketch. It is hard to draw with the graphire, but I am getting an intuos soon. I will see how much essier it is to sketch with 1024 levels of pressure and 5,000 lpi

  • hmm im thinking about getting me a tablet, thing is at my school i started using a wacom tablet, but for some reason the movement i do on the tablet doesnt correspond to the actual screen, and i dont know how to properly use a mac yet

  • oh my gawd. I was looking up Graphire stuff to check out what this baby can do before I buy it, and I saw this. And I clicked. And I was amazed. But I do agree about the fingers closest to us, they seem to need a bit more work. otherwise, AMAZING. I love it. ;D

I'm probably going to get a 6x8 Graphire tablet.

  • be sure to get one with 1024 pressure and high resolution. For the best price get a genius tablet. For the best quality get a wacom intuous

  • Are you done some art schools or something ?

    ReSPeCT

  • amazing... thats cool as hell dude

  • WOW dude!! that was awesome!!! it looks soooo real

  • You don't like your Tablet to be mapped?

    o.o

I can't stand it when it is like a mouse. It takes so much more effort to use.

    xD

    Great painting though.

    <33

  • that...is..fuckin...awesome! i've lost my tongue...

  • My babies are your babies.

  • WOW!!! im amazed.... one day i will be able to do this....

  • really nice work!

  • can you paint like that without the computer as well ?

    (pencil, charcoal etc)

  • of course, no one can paint on the computer with a wacom talbet if they cannot draw or paint with a pencil and brush

  • yeah i agree with that cause i'm the living proof.. first i couldn't draw anything in tablet even though i had some good drawings in paper.. after a bit of practice i got better!! still i'm better with a pencil and a paper but i hope i'll reach your lvl one day!! :D

  • Ok...so I saw what I thought was a picture...decided to see what the story was behind the pic, and low and behold,,,it was a painting...WOW...so...you are good...no...your work is GREAT!

  • wow thanks was like omg !!!! :O u i never seen eventhing like it b4 it was ace!

  • Excellent, although I'm not sure about the fingers on the hand closest to us. They could perhaps have done with a little more work.

  • Wow you are sick man! how long have you been into this! I just found you a couple of days ago and I love what you do! she looks so real!!

  • I digital paint too (check my vid's) and man, 3,5 h for something like that is really quick, congrats. and great commentary too. 5 stars.

  • god damn your good

    and im really jealous!

  • Lovely..

  • what's a directors account?

  • Means you can upload videos over 10 mins, you don't have to pay for it. Go to My Account, Channel Info, go to the very bottom. You'll see change channel type, then change to Director.

  • Do you have a website where we can view a collection of your finished works/images?

I've seen a couple that I would like to have on my computer or possibly as a desktop background.

  • You've probably been told this before, but you should get a directors account, would be amazing to see what you could do without being limited :-) btw, gave the video 5 stars!

  • oh looks liek im the first to watch the video, first to give 5 stars, and first to save it to my favorites :P

and of course i gave the first comment ^^

lovely work :O and great backgroundmusic (ciara byonce shakira) what internetradio is that :P

oh and of course and amazingly sexy vamp :O

    awesome work !! ;)
