i know this video is old but can you help me out i got the same sub but 15'' when you over power it can you hear some mechanical noise or let me know cuase im having crazy noise with mine but i think im over powering it with a hifonics 2608 amp thanks
To avoid bottoming out of the subs, you need to decrease the volume of the enclosure so that the sub can have a controlled excursion even when it is overpowered. Your box might be too big for the sub. you should ask DJ of Audioque about some specs of the box.
@boomtube yea dj aint helping me out with ish man i been emailing him like crazy told me it was clipping and told him thats not it i used the oscope he gave me the spec that works the best for the ported box and still this thing is sounding like somthing is bottoming out or mechanical noise but thanks anyways
@deee661 my HU goes to 50 volume. i always have on 40 volume. my hu doesnt clip. so i run it on 3/4 with 3/4 gain. i can run 50/50 voluem with no clip. ive o-scoped it. no clip. but id have to turn gain down. so i run 3/4 vol. 3/4 gain
I have 2 12 inch 3000 watt pioneer premiers and that pushes the shit out of em it easily does over 4000 rms with at least 16volts im lookin in to gettin the aq's
still have my dual 2 ohm sub, wa splaning on using 2 but one broke in UPS hands and I spent the money, Now i have a colossus which works best at 2 ohms and I can only wire sub at 1 or 4, guess 4 ohms it will be...
I have the same amp but I am running half power at the time. As soon as I get rid of my T5-15's I will be getting 2 of the HDC3 18's and running full power.
Full power isn't full gain. To use the gain you're supposed to set it to the same voltage as the HU's pre-out. The only way to do this professionally without clipping is to use a oscilloscope. I have a 6.5 volt pre-out (don't ask why) and I am already clipping my amplifier with the gain at minimum.
HDC4 FTW!!!

Are you running full power off that amp with the 12.
LooseCannon48 2 years ago
the gain on the amp is only 10-o clock, the audioque's might explode if I feed it fullpower.lol

@calvinblinkee somethings majorly wrong, idk, ask loads of ppl, gains are all the time usually 3/4 +/- a lil
rfofmiscellania 1 year ago
@rfofmiscellania Well I have my gain all the way down and it still bumps hard because I have a 6 volt preout lmao.
