I think the writing for this intro scene is far better in the UK version. A lot more intelligent wording to be sure-I wish it was the same for the US version!
I, generally, prefer the UK version to the US one. Not only do the characters sound better, and seem more sensible than in the US version, especially Tomuki, but the story in the UK version seems to stay more in tune with the Japanese version. It just feels that the US version seems to stray away from that.
I use a Dazzle for all my game recordings. It's cheap, easy to install (there are plenty of tutorials all over Youtube) and will give you much clearer results than merely sticking a webcam in front of the TV :D
crap i was thinking of getting this game but if the uk voices are like this (i prefer the american version) then what the hell am i gonna do i don't live in the us
The voice cast is the only difference between the PAL and NTSC versions - it's still the same game otherwise, so there's nothing stopping you from getting it :)
I do wish the US release had these names of the monkeys. They were all Ukki in the US release and they were unlike the 2nd game where puns were made on practically all of the monkeys.
Dude, if you've shown keen interest in PS1 based platformers like Spyro, then odds are you SHOULD have taken interest in it simply because it's A: in the same genre, B: got referenced due to the names of 2 of the bosses in Year of the Dragon, and C: had a huge amount of innovation in the dual shock control scheme at the time of the original's release. As far as PS platformers go, you haven't lived til you've played at least ONE title in the Ape Escape series :D
Well, as far as I noted with the UK dub, he apparently needed a deeper voice to fit with his "flirty side" in his official introduction after the White Monkey fight. I see what you mean though, the American Tomuki DOES sound much more like a vicious mad scientist :p
uk specter is a great voice actor

leontheliger 1 year ago
@leontheliger Doesn't matter; Raz from Psychonauts is also a 10-year-old kid, yet his voice is considerably deeper than Satoru's :P

Question: What did you do to make a tv screen recording look so clear and flawless?

@freqrexy But the British VO is truly terrible. Reminds me of watching CITV as a kid.
