maybe this is actually what it says it is... but this looks completely uncomfortable, ugly, like it would take too much effort to control the game with it, and a huge waste of space. Might be worth it for a collector but I don't see why all the gaming blogs were salivating over this....

@kristina80ification I bet part of it was it's retro cool. It was kinda big, though the foot rest came off, and the back folded down, but for NES gaming nuts it was another way to play, to get involved beyond the basic control pad. No, not for every game, but for driving or flying it was really fun. "Driving" in Spyhunter was really cool when you were more physically involved in the game.

I'm just dumbfounded by how he thought $150 was reasonable at all. Just completely dead inside. If it's that rare, wouldn't it be important to Video Game museums or places that archive this shit? It's probably sitting in the home of some greedy collector or a scam artist who plans to resell it for very high.

If it looks shoddy I can't help that. It wasn't made BY Nintendo, but by a small manufacturing company hoping to make a buck off of the NES craze. I'm sure that same trade show had a thousand other NES-geared money making ideas. Same thing happens today.

A videostore near me in the early 90's used to have a chair very similar to this one. You could rent it with a game for like $7.00. I remember it was particularly fun with Rad Racer 1 and 2. But the in-store demo usually had something lame and barely compatible with it, like Wheel of Fortune.
