  • its like bubble taps except your using 4 fingers instead of 2. its nearly exactly the same as 1 of dj woody's woodpecker scratch's. the only difference is that dj woody pushes/pulls the record with his thumb and cuts it with 4 fingers. Which I think works better because u hav more control over the record than you do this way.

i call it a woodpecker faderliss crab, I dont know what its really called but its a woodpecker style scratch (thats if u use ur thumb as the main scratching finger)

  • Thats been done a good few years back bro..sorry :-(

  • Just a variation on hydroplanes, or walking the record it all depends on your technique. Tony Vegas drummed or tapped on the wax, Q-Bert took it to a whole new level. Watch the video where he scratches without a mixer.

  • i saw someone a while back on youtube do something very similar except it was nearer to rubs and hydroplanes.

You push the record back and forth and drum your fingers on the record with your other hand in a fuid motion, it creats a stuttering affect like transforming very vast.

  • dj woody in 2001 vestax extravaganza.... someone else around the same time in dmc

  • nice nummar

  • cool man, thanks.

  • He's right the first one I saw do that was one of the Scratch Perverts.

Then I incorporated it into one of my youtube movies in May its titled: quick lessons

You do ad your own style to it keep it up.

    PEACE!

  • aah. had a suspicion it wasn't. do you know who used it first?
