  • I love Tori. The only problem I have with her is when she 'explains' her cryptic songs, she just makes them even more incomprehensible to the casual listener.

  • This interviewer asks brilliant questions! So often in American interviews, Tori doesn't really answer the questions in a way that's understandable. This interviewer found a way to speak Tori's language and they were having a real dialogue. Love it.

  • i love how she looks here....so real!

  • thankful for the way this wonderful lady always saves my bad days !

    :)

  • Best Spark version ever!!!

  • Not nice to put her with the sun in her eyes during the interview :p

  • Yeah, I'm sure they must have put a lot of thought into that decision...very strategic!

  • Haha she looks like she ate a hundred lemons!

  • wow this is my most favorite tori song and now that she's sort of explained it, makes all the more sense why this song spoke to me so much.

  • i dont really care the sexual tend of musicians i like but please, can anybody tell me if tori is lesbian? a friend of mine told me she is, but other one told me her songs talks about homophobia... is this true? pleas help me!

  • no, she's not a lesbian. and no she's not homophobic. your friends have a rather misguided view of her lyrics if they think they're about homophobia.

  • Tori is married, to a man, who also happens to be her producer unless i'm mistaken?

  • You're close. Her hubby, Mark, is a mixer & recorder & the happy couple record everything at their house in England. They have 9 yr old Natashya, too: )

  • Homophobia?=P Not really, no. & some of her songs *are* a little lezzie-themed (Raspberry Swirl, Past the Mission) but once you know her style for afew yrs, you get it;-) & yeah, she is straight/married to a boy.

  • @bigblonde26 If you mean "Past the Mission" as in the "I once knew a hot girl" part, Tori said in an interview, "This is based on the sexual assault that I've experienced which I had a song on my last album too. The line "I once knew a hot girl" is painful. Where has she gone?". And therefore I think she's talking about the feminine in her which was vague after the incident.

  • the most beautiful version of spark ever

  • Love Matt, such a perfect drummer

  • Her voice starts to tremble a little when she talks about Spark, doesn't it? Oh my god, she's so sweet. Spark is a wonderfully tragic song.

  • o my god!!! she is always beautiful, but here, it's something else!!!!

  • I love Tori's teeth...is that weird?

  • Oh my gosh...I do too...I really do! If she got fake teeth like sum of those fake starlets do she may not sound the same! Her teeth are a vital part of her and her sound!

  • Also, it's perhaps ironic, but watching her heavier in this video, she seems more at ease and comfortable with her body than she has in quite a while. You might think she'd be self-conscious, but her body language doesn't convey that at all. And I see no harm in any woman wanting to wear makeup and pretty herself up, but yeah...something about ADP seemed brittle to me. Natasha Claire, that poster you mentioned...I think I flamed him a few times myself, and I normally never do that. LOL *shallow*

  • I agree re: weight. Tori carries extra weight beautifully and just looks very feminine and dewy and lovely. Recent footage of her makes it look as if she's gained a few, and sure enough, her face looks healthier. Underweight is just as unhealthy as obese to me..in anyone.

  • I think she looks better with a little extra weight

  • i love th chorus of that song really nice but i cant hear the piano very well

    first time im a fan!

  • Not only do I love her music, but I love the way she thinks. She has an incredible mind. Thank you for this wonderful post.

  • and she looks soo much like janice joplin at points in the show, the energy and everything

  • she is amazing

  • Cant imagine how had this time was for her, but she carried on singing and writing. Its hard to be a woman. Shes amazing.

  • And what's with all the men in the audience!? That's a rarity at a Tori show!

  • There were a lot of men at the show I went to back in August. The crowd seemed largely homosexual in nature, which is pretty much a given, but there were still many men.

  • @MithraMusic: seems like I had fit in prefectly xD.

  • Hahaha well there was the occasional straightie who was there with his girlfriend, but that's under one percent of the crowd.

  • aww, this gives me chills. I saw Tori playing this live last month! And this month :-) Her music is my best friend.

  • I just saw her last night in Nashville! I am still floatng!!! Love Tori!!:)

  • amazing performance of this song....

i love tori with some meat on her bones too! she looks fab!

  • me too! I had a fight with this dude on youtube, (robertschrader), who said he thought she was fat and over weight during this period. I'm so tired of folk celebrating how thin she is now--to me, she looks stronger here and I like how it's less about glam, and more about the music.

  • She had recently had a miscarriage! People are so cruel. This is my favorite era of her looks. But she is always lovely, every time I've seen her

  • during this period, she was in between her misscarriages, with the weight gain/lose, the rev up/crash. robertschrader can go suck an egg

  • I can't wait to see her perform live on 13th Nov @ charlotte! I have been waiting to watch her live for years.

    God, she is awesome!

  • Tori will always has a special place in my heart...forever.

  • Awe-some!

  • this is the best performance of Spark I saw :)

  • This is the song that made me fall in love with Tori. Thanx 4 posting....BTW, on her Scarlet Walk tour, she cut a little of Carol King's "I feel the earth move" in with Bliss...if anyone has this please post, it was cool!!

  • thank you Tori she is so abstract :) lets all leave the planet ...

  • Am I the only one who thinks that Tori looks absolutely marvelous with a few more pounds on her than usual? It really suits her IMO. She has a beautiful figure at any weight, and like many women, she actually tends to look a little tired when she gets too thin. I just think she's utterly beautiful here.

  • Shes so incredible. I think Spark was written about her miscarriage? "But she couldnt keep baby alive" I cant help but feel what shes feeling when she talks about her songs and performs them.

  • i really love tori amos, w/ the song big wheel... awesome...

  • this is from 1998. Interesting to hear her talk about characters again, considering the four ones from American Doll Posse

  • This is amazing. It's my fav song. So beautiful, and I love the intro.

  • Great performance.

She made amazing music at this troubled time, it's so beautiful.

  • this was after one of her miscarriages, she had to put on some weight and like kind of chill out around the time of choirgirl, i think you can see that shes in a weird place. These are all vids ive never seen before!! Nice one! X

  • when was this filmed? she looks so young... (",) not that she shows her age now.
