The man that was killed was Asuma, Shikamaru's sensei. Hidan killed him. Hidan is immortal and lives forever, but only by killing. So Shikamaru blew him up with a bunch of explosive tags tied to him and then buried him in a hole, so Hidan would never kill anyone again, meaning he wouldn't live.

it was the most sadist feeling ever thinking of his past with naruto, also shikamaru's past with azuma and i felt the feelings of shikamaru, i cryed my eyes out, i'm not ashamed of admiting it. because it takes alot to make me cry and that hit the spot, it was more epic because of the music. you should try it. nice vid mate 8)
