  • finding this music is the best part of youtube for me. some people breeze through life blissfully unaware of the chaos they leave in thier wake. yet, somehow we still wake up the next morning. and manage to put one foot in front of the other...

  • I often sing this out loud when I'm on California 5 !

  • But I was dreaming of you With my heart in your hands And I was following through With my beautiful plans.................... Hey look at the way I believed in you And loved you all these years Now you can fill a swimming pool with all my salty tears If you'd have told me what was in your heart Instead of all your lies I thought that it would kill me But I'm alive
  • played this at the funeral of a good friend and each time I hear it, it cuts me to the quick. That said, love it and can't not listen to it.

  • Singer Songwriter Jackson Browne his Tribute to his first wife was actress/model Phyllis Major (1973–1976). The two began their relationship around 1971, Major and Browne married in late 1975. He was devastated when she committed suicide by consuming an overdose of sleeping pills just a few months later, in March 1976, at the age of 30 ~

Jackson Browne is a true suicide survivor! Love him

  • @Ladysensei ........Your story is accurate, but this paricular song is about Darryll Hannah

  • @Ladysensei The Pretender album was actually his tribute to her.

  • I love this song and it's a favorite of mine so I say perfect song. Laura bought this CD for me because she knew how much I loved Jackson Brown and this song, and what it stands for. I wish I were still alive.

  • @elphoenix23 Well, that sucks.

  • @elphoenix23 If this song provides you even just a little comfort, then it was worth his trouble to write it. Take care.

  • @goodfoot1971

    350km.Route 12

I dumped her too broke my heat but did the right thing.

Check out the new acoustic album made in Spain."LOVE IS STRANGE"

With Maestro David Lindley. his long time partner & friend Tino Digeraldo Xavier Maas.Lou Passar etc YOU WILL LOVE IT

  • the whole "I'm Alive" album, as it tells the story of his relationship with Darryl Hannah, as tumultuous and tortured as it was at times, really tells of his heartbreak and subsequent revelation that he had alot to live for, in spite of losing her. It also speaks to how much he learned about himself in the process of that breakup... the demons from his past, the anger with which they both lashed out at each other on numerous occasions. He's obviously a man of great passion, as was she. True art!

  • EXCELLENT....WITHOUT A DOUBT !!!

  • One of my very favorite Jackson Browne songs. Can turn a day around for me.

  • @mikeclaw This song has gotten me through 1 1/2 break-ups. Always hurry people along when they go to see him with me as he usually has no opening act and opens with this song- can't miss it!!

  • Enjoyed reading the comments fans wrote about this song. Thought I was the only one who loved this song. lol I agree that it was definitely underrated. Was obvious DH had broken his heart.

  • a wonderful song by a wonderful artist, still underrated, who obviously has experienced the down side of love/life,,the emotion of which helps to produce a song/albumn of this quality,,which brings us to to the question,,why does love have to be so sad?

  • Good song from a good album about a relationship that almost ruined his career.

  • if it wasn't for my brother-in-law jon i would never got into jackson browne. thank you jon

  • I do believe this is my favorite Jackson Browne song. It is just soo amazing!
