Awesome song. It reminds me of some big cities at night time when the neon lights are on and you walk through dangerous streets, meeting different fishy people.
sometimes words are the very thing that prevent the delivery of sincerity..they have been so misused; hearts as well. but sometimes you hear a thing that disturbs and rattles the debris within the folds of the mind (the junk yard of the soul) and suddenly what were pieces start to self assemble themselves, charged by the new wind entering in...your music is this to me, the vision of you with your music is this to me. I ask not, "is there music in the air" but "is there 'Ayers' in the music?
Very "Impressive" Erykah operates on a vibe light years ahead of her time. She takes her craft very seriously and it definately show's in the music she puts forth. The ancestors have to be extremely proud of this Black Goddess. Hotep
Sis. Badu operates on a vibe way before her time, she is dedicated and serious about her craft and it shows in her music. She is definately favored by the ancestors.
I fit that profile, only thing is I'm in the uk. I always seem to think that none of my friends are interested in tunes like this. I need to either introduce them to this music or meet some new people.
Hey! I'm from TN, and I say this is the DOPEST album to come out this decade. Hit me up! Oh, yeah. Don't trip off the screen name. was just trippin when i came up with it
The Cell and The Healer are my favorite tracks....i love to blast the Cell out of my car on Saturday afternoons here in Atlanta, or if i am home....i always get a positive reaction. one more thing, do Grammy voters actually listen to albums in entirety anymore...this is a GREAT recording! it should have been recognized. hats off to the critics/ reviewers who acknowledged this masterpiece!
I think this one might be my favorite song on the album. It gets the most play so far, next would be Master Teacher, Telephone, then Honey. But the whole album is cold as hell.
I bought her new album 'new amerykah fourth world war part 1' the other day and am loving it! She showcases new talent, does two different takes on one song in there, goes back to that raw female funk sound (e.g. isis), gets some good break beats in there, a mixture of real worked out set songs and some where she's just jammed with e.g. sa-ra in their studio. Such a great mix - the sound of summer at last!!! have also ordered d'angelo's 'yoda, the monarch of neosoul'!!!
yoda, the monarch of neo soul - is more of a series of tantalizing snippets, rather than a true album - a must have for D'angelo fans, but for others, more of an 'official mixtape'.
do i hear Ndambi in the chorus? she works so will with erykah's material. i lub her as much as i lub Erykah. both of em got some lips that make you wanna smack you mama.
I can imagine our great underground stuff gradually coming into clubs and mainstream soon. This uses that boring drum and bass feel and adds a funk/jazz feel to it - comon' Badu bring your stuff into mainstream, we'll still keep seeing you live because your music is of quality!

I can never find a guy that listens to my type of music and meshes with my personality.
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who can't seem to find what they want.
