I was only able to watch a couple of minutes worth, but it is crazy to see how far that tennis has evolved to become the wonderful sport that it is today. Thanks for posting!
are you playing with other types of ball or rackets ? it seems like you generate less power but while still swinging at full force ... just wondering, cous with real tennisracket it would be a pinballmachine in there
@b00tn ball twice as heavy, and rock hard, although with a felt cover. Very little bounce. Racquet also much heavier and wooden. VERY small sweet spot!!
This is a wonderful sport to play, although I have never played on a true court we played in a lower ceilinged variant and had a lot of fun. The rules are a bit odd at times, but the nuances of the game are so much more varied than the power focused tennis we see today.
I'd never even heard of this until today, yet I've followed tennis for years. All I can say is it's a good job lawn tennis was invented because otherwise the game wouldn't be anywhere near as popular, far too complicated. Still interesting to see where it all came from, though.
this reminds me of ping pong at my house. the patio ceiling, window and any thing else you can bank the ball against is in play. never knew it was a real sport.
more like fake tennis! :P kidding! Seems fun and pretty hard.

@googleboughtmee what exactly is wrong? I can always use some advice/criticism please.
betterthanayard 5 months ago
@betterthanayard sry was just being silly. i guess all real tennis footage is at strange angles with only little bits of the court visible at a time.
googleboughtmee 5 months ago
@googleboughtmee One of the major reasons that real tennis is never televised is that the courts don't allow for a good placement of cameras.

not a lot of people know that this is where regular tennis comes from. Its a real cool game to watch, but there are not much courts for it anymore.

I must ask, why have I never seen this televised with the other Australian Open matches? If it is part of the tournament why isn't it on TV?

badly needs a commentary to explain wtf is going on
tigerboy1966 2 years ago 2
This sport is quite beguiling, and fascinating due to its history.
I expect it's the seemingly arbitrary and asymmetrical features on the court which turn people off though.
DashiPenitence 2 years ago
Why do you even need the net here?
IvanAndreevich 2 years ago
The netting (in front of the camera you mean?) is to protect spectators. It's a hard, heavy, ball and you can be killed if hit.
